Mo°sound acoustics: broadbands in porcelain balls
Mo°sound is part of the Audio Tuning group which is none other than Heinz Lichtenegger of Project. Mo°sound offers several models of acoustics, notable for their cabinets - these are spheres made of pure porcelain. Austrian designer and audiophile Roland Jaklitsch, founder of Mo°sound, believes that "the spherical shape is technically ideal" for speaker cabinets, and porcelain can form "a very hard hollow sphere with low vibration and absolutely uniform wall thickness".
The cabinets of these speakers are porcelain spheres with a diameter of 17.5 cm. Between themselves, the speakers differ in finishing (hand-applied glaze combined with screen printing) and speakers. There are two options for three-inch broadband.The oldest Viennese porcelain manufactory (part-time attraction, art object, and exhibition space) Augarten undertook the production of porcelain spheres. The almost closed, seamless spherical shape required the use of a complex "internal explosion" technology.
As a result, three models of Mo°sound acoustics appeared: Classic with classic speakers, the cones of which are made of aluminum-magnesium alloy, Superior, with bamboo cones and a copper-plated phase-equalizing central body, and Augarten, complemented by a luxury version of the porcelain cabinet. Close cooperation with Project resulted in the recommendation to pair these speakers with MaiA amplification or Stereobox BT. As a subwoofer, the Pro-Ject Sub 50. A bass model is offered.
However, Mo ° sound also has a bass support option. That's what it's called, Bass. Spherical satellites are installed on subwoofers in the form of a spherical segment with an 8-inch woofer directed upwards. The body of the low-frequency unit is cast from concrete.
