Alastair had been debating on this decision for a long time. The fear was overwhelming, though, that his concerns would be confirmed through this trip but he figured he had to know now. He had to get it resolved. What if this reverend turned around and confirmed everything his father had told him growing up? What if all of this was a disaster?

It had taken him ten minutes to pluck up the courage to walk into the building, and he looked around to see if anybody was around.

'Hello?' He called out, nervously hoping that no one came out to see him and he could then just walk out and leave and say that he had tried.

But he heard something from behind him, and he turned, coming face to face with an older (handsome - shit) man who was obviously the reverend.

'Hi.' Alastair breathed, wringing his hands together, heart thudding hard in his chest and his stomach twisting, making him feel sick. 'I-- I was wondering if you could help me... I-- wanted to talk about what the bible says about... uh... gay people.'

What Alastair had not noticed was the pride flag flying outside. That might have helped ease his mind.
