The 17-year-old, Hunger Games actor Amandla Stenberg has come out as non-binary. Stenberg - who plays Rue in the adventure film franchise – says she feels like she’s not a ‘woman’ all the time, and non-binary is a term that she feels comfortable using to describe herself. (She is using female pronouns). Writing on Tumblr, she said she is organizing a workshop on feminism, specifically how ‘mainstream feminist movements have continuously excluded women who are not white, thin, cisgender, able-bodied and neurotypical’. "Something we are struggling with is understanding the intersection of feminism and gender identity… We’re both people who don’t feel like “women” all the time – but we claim feminism as our movement. Basically, we’re trying to understand the duality of being a non-binary person and a feminist. How do you claim a movement for women when you don’t always feel like one?”
HASHTAG YUP YEP SHE RULES.
They're going into the City of Bones to confront the Silent Brothers and I'm glad I'm watching in full daylight because at night this would be creepy. Very creepy.
My text tone is Rue's whistle. It went off shortly after the trailer. I'm not ready.
Help me out, guys!
I want the Mockingjay whistle as my ringtone again. However, I remembering hearing a lower pitched version (or just slightly different version) in one of the Mockingjay Part 1 trailers. It sounded a little more eerie and creepy, and I don't remember what trailer (or TV spot?) it was from! Someone help!
While watching The Hunger Games, I went to get a drink of water. The glass made a noise, so this happened...
Is it just me or does the Mockingjay whistle sound much more haunting in the Mockingjay promos than the Catching Fire ones??
So I'm minding my own business, waiting for class to start, and all of a sudden I hear the mockingly whistle from the hallway. A few seconds later I hear it again! College-the real Hunger Games!
