We kicked our Sunday off the way we so often do - with CBS Sunday Morning. Such a great show that both Matt and I enjoy. The rest of the morning was pretty lazy except that I did get down to the treadmill after we put M down for her nap. Since I’m writing this late I can’t remember what I did on the treadmill but if I’m looking at my fitbit’s excise log it looks like I ran. Unfortunately the treadmill picture doesn’t tell me much but here it is regardless:
On Monday or Tuesday, I had emailed my MIL to see if she could watch the kids sometime this week so Matt and I could go see Mockingjay part 2. I read Hunger Games when it first came out and have seen every one in theaters (in fact we saw Catching Fire when M was 5 or 6 weeks old thanks to our in-laws). She said they could come over today/Sunday at 3 p.m. I was stoked when I discovered that this would work perfectly with the theater nearby that doubles as a brewery and has food/drink delivery in the theater during the movie - perfect movie and dinner date without having to go two places and miss the kiddos that much longer. The movie was great! I even managed to make good food choices and had a salad...which is great since I also had two beers (I’m not even sorry as (a) I tracked them and they fit my calorie goals and (b) they had my favorite beer, Three Floyds Gumballhead, on draft).
After the movie we came home and hung out with the in-laws and my BIL and niece. Our niece who is 9 apparently wants to learn Euchre so we were trying to teach her. I love Euchre but I always forget that it really is hard to teach, especially to a kid who is not terribly familiar with card games generally. Euchre is a midwest tradition though and I played so much in my Junior year English class that it’s one of the most distinct memories I have of that entire year of high school.
