Fat Intersex people are awesome!
In case anyone out there didn't know, you all shine and are wonderful!
Might any of you or your followers share some stories (or advice) related to being fat and discovering your aro/ace orientation, if it's not too much of an issue? Lately I've been feeling like my ID is invalid in some way :L
Mod Siarl, and myself, have posted about fatness and asexuality. You may find something useful in those posts, if you don’t feel free to bring us more questions!
Mod Oka answered: Are there any ways aphobia and fatphobia intersect in your life? Since fat people are ‘gross people who can’t have sex’ and asexuals ‘don’t ever want sex’, according to bigots.
Mod Siarl answered: Do any of y'all think you could help me out? I’ve ID'ed as asexual for a while, but more recently I’ve been questioning if I’m not ace at all. A part of the reason is that fat people are always told we can’t be sexual or like sex, and I definitely know I’ve internalized it. I don’t know if IDing as asexual made it easier to ignore those voices, or if they’re unrelated. Do you have any tips on figuring this out?
Concept: Rejected Fat Superheroes Team
A team of fat superheroes forms after a supervillain(s) take down the mainstream hero league who had rejected their applications to join.
A call-to-arms type message gets broadcast calling for any potential superheroes to resist and rise up. These potential heroes meet and discover the superheroes only rejected fat people.
Thus, the extremely petty Fantastic Action Team is formed!
Fat + Trans/Enby
Society forces us to be thin.
Society forces us to be the binary gender it assigned us at birth.
Thus, allowing yourself to be happily fat is a ‘fuck you’ to society.
Thus, expressing your gender freely and happily is a ‘fuck you’ to society.
We are allowed to be fat and trans/enby, simultaneously.
We fuck up sometimes!
Sometimes it’s important to remember that it’s unrealistic to expect us to be perfect, always. None of us are going to be 100% correct on everything we come across. The mods themselves will always have growing and learning to do. We may also forget things and need to be reminded of something.
It’s important to us that our followers feel free enough to tell us that we’ve fucked up without worrying that we will have pitchforks and torches shoved in our faces. If you don’t feel comfortable saying it directly to the mod who you think has fucked up, just write an ask directing it specifically to another mod’s attention, or like “Hey, Mod Oka posted this, but it’s not correct. Could a different mod address this?”
I also want to clarify that this isn’t meant to include instances where we say something bigoted. While it would be appreciated if you came to us about something like that calmly, you are absolutely allowed to be angry with us if we say something oppressive.
Mod Applications Open!
[gif: Smoky Quartz from Steven Universe smiling and making celebratory hand gestures.]
We have created a mod application on Google Forms.
We’re going to keep the applications open for at least a week (until 11:59pm PST on March 5th), and we’ll make an announcement if that gets extended.
We look forward to reading over your applications and getting to know you!
And for any of you who are unsure of yourself or hesitant:

I will never accept my body, but I hope you love yours.
Too much of my life has been spent being indoctrinated with fat hate. It's seared into my self image. I can literally remember being fat shamed since I was 6 years old.
I'm capable of not actively hating myself. There are days when I can forget what body I'm living in. And there are times when someone else who finds me attractive can make me happy. But I'll never truly be happy about my body; I am happy despite it.
This is why I care about fat positivity. I hope there are other people who can overcome what society says and truly feel beauty in themselves. I hope we can cause enough of a stir so that there are future generations that can hear body positivity their whole lives and not just after the fatphobic rhetoric has already been instilled.
I sincerely hope you know that you are truly beautiful.
