“What is it?”
“You think I know?”
“Well, excuuuse me for thinking you was the smart one, Maroony.”
“...Never, under any circumstances, ever call me that again.”
“Aw, c’mon! I think it’s a good nickname! Really sets off the color of your hat, y’know? And boyo, it’s fun to say!”
“I’m not- look, we’re getting off-topic here. Way off-topic. Why am I even doing this? It’s a picture of a goddamn alien, for fuck’s sake- keep your feet on the ground.”
“Aw, you’ve just got to spoil all my fun. As to the first thing, I’m expecting it’s your natural curiosity, like me! Excepting that you don’t go so far as to stick your face anywhere it can be stuck, am I right?”
“I can think of several good reasons why.”
“I can think of one, and I’ll tell you! It’s because you, bossy boss, don’t have the luck or the guts! Sure you’ve got plenty of both or you wouldn’t be here today, but you just don’t have enough to find out what’s needing to be found out, you know?”
“I think the answer you were looking for is because ‘You’re actually smart.’ Because I know sure as hell that’s the reason why. Hell, if you weren’t so lucky you’d have been offed the goddamn day you were created.”
“And that, boyo, is exactly the reason I am so lucky, you hear me?”
“Unfortunately. I think it’s some sort of mammal.”
“Oh, aye, and that’d explain the hair on its face, wouldn’t it? Not a bad looker, though, if I’m saying so for myself!”
“No. This is a picture. You can’t fuck a picture.”
“I dunno, boss, the way you’re saying it makes it sound like you’re issuing a mite of a challenge there!”
“Look, I don’t- This isn’t a matter of- Ugh. I mean you could fuck the picture, but I can’t imagine that would be very sexually gratifying. Not that anything you do is any sort of gratifying.”
“Oh, bossman, that hurt! Right here, that hurt. Laddie, you break this man’s heart, you know that? Broke it right in half.”
“That so? What a damn shame. Just think of how we’ll have to manage without you constantly on our asses- don’t you fucking dare use that out of context or I swear to god I’ll kill you.”
“Sounds to me like you’re the only one taking things out of context- hee hee hee! Oh, and say, lad, if you’ve had enough of ogling the odd mammalian man- assuming that’s what it is- do you suppose I could have it?”
“Well, I- why.”
“Just think of the pranking opportunities, boss!”
“Of course. You know what, fine. Here, take it.”
“Thank you kindly, boss! Hee hee hee!”
“My question is, where the hell did it come from?”
“You know how it is, lad, some things forever remain a mystery!”
“Right, whatever. But I’m warning you, if I so much as see a corner of that picture in my room, I’m blaming you.”
“Duly noted, Maroony!”
“I just said- hey, get back here! Don’t you fucking run away like that! I will catch you! My legs are longer than yours, you insufferable pipsqueak!”
"Our blog, however, also works with rhetorical fallacies, which can occur in statements, due to the reasoning or logic behind the statements being faulty." how do you know the reasoning behind a statement if it isnt provided? if you're arguing against what youre assuming the reasoning for a statement is without actually knowing it, thats a classic strawman.
After reexamining the post in question and reading through your asks again, I must concede that your point is a valid one. While one can assume certain statements are made with a fallacious thought process behind them, it is impossible to determine whether it is or is not logically incorrect. We can assume the reasons behind their thinking, but we cannot be sure. Basically, unless we know the reasoning behind statements, we cannot be certain whether or not they are fallacious.
I will admit that post personally just annoyed me and i felt that in order to try and set things right, I would point out a fallacy within it. As you say, though, it is merely a statement, and in itself it cannot be fallacious or not.
Thank you for pointing this out to us, and for remaining civil and calm throughout the debate. In the future, I will be more careful when reblogging statements.

Keep up the good work Mod Spock don't let them get you down!! ^u^
Awww, thank you so much anon!
ok let me try to explain this to you again. first, treating a statement as an argument is logically nonsensical. an argument is, by definition, a series of statements meant to support a conclusion. a single statement can be the conclusion of an argument, but it cannot constitute an argument in itself. because of this, a statement cannot possibly be fallacious. fallacies occur when an argument is INVALID, and a single statement cannot be invalid, only true or false.
Yes, logical fallacies occur in arguments and occur when the logic used is faulty. Our blog, however, also works with rhetorical fallacies, which can occur in statements, due to the reasoning or logic behind the statements being faulty. I understand this does not fit into the standard definition of fallacies, but pointing out the fact that some statements do not logically seem to make sense is something we have always done on this blog. People submit the posts they want to see analyzed, and we analyze them.
I understand where you are coming from, I truly do, and I will edit our description to make it clear that we will analyze not only complete arguments but also individual statements, even though analyzing statements doesn’t fit into the technical definition of logical fallacy.
If you have any arguments (and i do mean true arguments) that you would like to see us analyze, please feel free to shoot us a link.

are you anti-social justice? because this blog sure makes you seem anti-social justice. please stop facilitating racists and homophobes and misogynists who try to invalidate entire ideologies by cherrypicking people's personal posts and experiences on a social networking site
