Chapter 1 - Do We Just Photosynthesize?
When you wake up, you find yourself presented with another letter, telling you to come back to the throne room. Again, the special addition of “please wear your mask” is tacked on, so you grab it and head on your way ---- past the rooms of your wingmates, past the stained glass, and into the large throne room.
By now, surely you can recognize some of your fellow guests with just their masks ---- perhaps a friend, or an acquaintance, but either way, this may be the closest you’d get to seeing a familiar face.
Instead of the two squirrel animatronics on either side, you instead see two weasels ---- one of them you recognize as Popgoes, but the other seems to be...a stranger version of him. TALLER, as if someone took him and stretched him out, with sharp teeth and a more colorful hat.
( Would he KILL someone? Jesus. )
Before you can turn and whisper or even think of doing so, the familiar voice of the Queen rings out. Indeed, the rabbit-like shape behind the curtain seems to be rather...active.
“Good morning, dear guests. I am sure that you’ve taken the time to process the situation at hand. You may have been questioning -------- ‘what do we do? how do we get out?’ And under more natural circumstances, I would be glad to reassure you that there is nothing to fear.”
The Queen’s pause seems to stretch over you and your fellow guests. "More natural circumstances” would dictate that this was an elaborate PRANK, not just something out of a nightmare, surely!
“As it is, we will provide you with a special event ---- an incentive, if you wish to speak in fair terms, a motive if you want to be honest. This first one will be rather simple: you can no longer play the games in the arcade until a skeletal is turned in, or someone is murdered.”
Is that it? That...doesn’t really seem very scary. You were expecting something terrifying, something ghastly.
“Your only source of income during this period will be helping Blake with chores. He’s a very busy badger, after all. You will even receive MORE chores to do ---- however, even that has a price. You will be able to find more details on your phones ---- we customized the software specifically for the hunt. Good luck.”
