LadyNoir Christmas in July 2020: A Secret Santa Exchange

Hello, Miraculers! Are you looking for an exchange to celebrate the Love Square while on hiatus, the current global pandemic, or do you just want to write for ML? Well, look right here!

Countries like Australia and New Zealand have Christmas in July as a holiday, and several fandoms have adapted it into a fic exchange/event. And now, I’ve came up with the decision to host one this year, with the help of my fellow mod and friend @callieegirl (she can also be found @themiraculousladyblog)/mod Callie. You can find me @miraculousguardianlady, and while it’s my sideblog, the original post for the event’s concept is there so you can get a view on it.

Signups began two days ago, but I kept procrastinating (and fell asleep when taking a ‘short nap’) and never got around to announcing it in the Discord. But they are open now, for writers and authors.

The signups will be ran all throughout the rest of the month and throughout the entire month of May, but you’re more than welcome to write your fic during the signup period until the release timeline.

Artists will be assigned as well, but not until this Friday will they be able to sign up. However, writer signups are open, just head to the AO3 collection here, moderated by me from one of my secondary pseuds. Prompt vote for this year’s fic theme will start tonight as well.

Betas are welcomed too! Although, there’s no signup, just message me on Discord at JupiterMarchGirl#0438 and I’ll give you an invite to the server. Same for artists and writers, too. (And of course, message Callie there at themiraculousladyblog#9618, too. Either of us are welcome to giving all participants the invite.)

Message us from our mains or on Discord if you’d like the invite! The rules will be in the server, and they’re quite simple. We can’t wait to get more participants! (We have a few already)

Honestly with Saltinette it's just like, everything's blown up into a conspiracy against her. And most of the things salters have characters inflict on poor, suffering, persecuted Marinette are things with no basis in canon, or that even DIRECTLY CONTRADICT what canon has given us. If you have to make crap up to bash characters with, then maybe they weren't deserving of that bashing in the first place.

Honestly, it’s something similar with making Marinette this keystone of the class without which it’ll completely disintegrate. I can see her being a keystone, but in that she cares for them a lot and they care for her back, not because of this made-up commissions that salters have her do for everyone for free, because of course they have to be exploiting her like that, or have her arrange all this insane funding and class trips as class representative. While I’m homeschooled, I did to go to public for a couple of years and went on a field trip once and vividly remember it. It’s the teachers who fund the money to go places; however, I’m from the US (California, to be specific) and idk what other school districts do. And they’re in France, at that, so I have zero clue of how it works over there. But if it is similar/vaguely the same with a few differences, I’m 99.9% sure that the class representative doesn’t control money for trips and that it’s the teachers. (However, in my school, we had to pay money for the bus ride, the gas for the bus, and the money to go to the zoo, as that’s where we went. Entry fees, to be exact.)

Thanks for the ask! I can definitely see this being a great take on how salt-fics make little to zero sense when it comes to what happens at their school. I never thought of this before, so thank you for the new perspective!
