When Jews hit December : okay. Um. So. How do we spell the holiday again? Lights, latkes, You know the one.
Oh it's contested? Multiple spellings? Got it. Great, great! I just need to make a flyer- we have to decide on this centuries old debate in the next ten minutes for this Canva document.
It's a little upsetting to see so many groups say "Happy Channukah, peace and love!" Because peace and love are not the themes of Channukah, that's the theme of Christmas.
Channukah is about hope, about the light on the darkness, yes but it's also about resistance. It's about being yourself and not conforming. It's explicitly not about peace.
