Wait wasn’t Takua’s blue mask explained as him not adjusting his colors properly when disguising himself as a Ta-Matoran? At least that’s what the Eight-Hour Bionicle lore video said

According to Biosector01 (which cites BIONICLE: Encyclopedia Updated as its source):

"[Takua] was later relocated to Metru Nui by the Order of Mata Nui during the Time Slip, disguised as a Ta-Matoran, though due to his lackluster amount of control, his disguise was a poor one."

That could be either attempting to explain his blue mask or the fact that in Quest for the Toa, his body colors are swapped. Or both!

Personally I've always just headcanoned that blue is a naturally occurring, albeit rare, Ta-Matoran color (stemming from QftT again- there's what appears to be a Ta-Matoran in the tutorial with blue feet) since blue can be seen in ordinary fire. From a toyline standpoint he's probably blue so that he stands out as the Main Character Special Boy, especially since he gets even bluer after being rebuilt. The headcanon that his blue mask is a replacement for an older one comes from the fact that it's mentioned a couple times that it doesn't quite fit him right, which doesn't make a ton of sense if it's the same one he's been using all his life.

- I did not expect Berdly! I like how his colors didn’t even really change, he just turned into Falco. Although now that they’ve been introduced like that, I can easily see other classmates showing up in the Dark World, too. 

- Just replace the rock with one of her dangerous glasses, it could potentially work.
