From this long ass series of headcanons and edits.
When they started to go out, Hyde would joke Buddy was Eric’s sugar daddy and the joke stayed even after they became official.
It scared the shit out of Eric to tell Red about Buddy, so he first told Kitty (although, the first one to know were his friend, Laurie found out by herself and after some blackmail, promised to not saya word) and she tried to let Red know about it without actually having to tell him.
She lowkey sent into the groups they are together in whatsapp articles about what to do if your son comes out as gay to you and why you are an asshole if you make their lives hell.
One day, Red walks over to were Eric and Buddy are standing and only says, “I have always known, now tell your mother to stop doing that” and Eric goes white and cold, and is in shock for an entire day.
Things are easy with Buddy’s family since he has been out the closet for a while by now, and when both families meet, both want to die a little.
Buddy is that boyfriend that doesn’t go to sleep until Eric does and always sends him a text before going to bed.
Eric wakes him up with a meme or a cute dog picture.
They go to the cinema a lot to the point the dude at the ticket-stan knows them already and always gets them good sits.
Sometimes, they fight about who pays the date. So they have stabilshed that the one that invites, pays.
Laurie constantly bothers Eric about how she likes his boyfriend better than him, and how Red likes Buddy more than Eric.
When Eric realized the kind of very expensive gifts Buddy kept getting him, he started to believe Hyde’s joke about his boyfriend being his sugar daddy.
