My Thoughts on The Gods - Part 3
Part 3 of the series of my modern gods upg, featuring Aphrodite!
Firm believer in self-love. It’s very important to take care of your mind, body, and soul so that you can keep working at optimal efficiency. Besides, how are you going to properly love anyone else if you don’t love yourself first?
Thinks that daily affirmations are brilliant! Look into the mirror and list all the amazing things about yourself. It’s the perfect way to boost your confidence.
Aphrodite loves long, warm baths. They’re the perfect opportunity to unwind and take a break from the world. It’s calm, relaxing, and a time to get lost in yourself (or a lover ;)).
Attends pride festivals, wearing a different flag/color representation every time. As the goddess of love and beauty, she thinks it’s important to represent each of the various sexualities and genders.
Often does free makeovers for those who are homeless. Looking good is one of the steps to feeling good!
Despairs at others having insecurities about their looks or other aspects of themselves. She finds that everyone has beauty internally and externally. To remedy this, she sometimes leaves positive messages for people to find or visits them in person to shower them in compliments.
Totally a shopaholic. It’s hard to resist when there are so many amazing things to buy!
Frequently changes her appearance to fit her mood. One day, she might show up in a beautiful sundress with her natural blonde and fluffy curls while the next, she may shown up with half of her head shaved and dyed maroon as she rocks a punk/grunge look.
Adores the street styles around the world, especially in Japan. She thinks they’re rather inventive and show off quite a bit of a person’s individuality.
Often visits beauty pageants and gives each contestant a bouquet of roses for good luck and a reminder that they’re all stunning, no matter who wins.
Is very active in making sure that ace, non-binary, intersex, demigirls/guys, transgender, and genderqueer individuals have their voices heard within the LGBT+ community. She doesn’t believe that trying to exclude anyone in the community is what it should stand for. Her son Hermaphroditus is intersex and she has other friends and family that fall under the above categories, which only makes her more passionate about the subject.
Enjoys dance and often goes out with Apollo and Hermes for a night out bar hopping and rocking the dancefloor.
Often travels around different art museums around the world to enjoy the different depictions of beautiful art and culture.
Is the friend you go to for comfort after a breakup since she always knows just what to say and do to ease the ache.
Is just passionate about cleaning and protecting the sea as Poseidon, usually joining in with groups that collect trash and pollutants out of the water or on beaches.
Adores cute baby animal videos and usually ends up sending them to or watching them with Demeter and Persephone.
Would totally do the “My boyfriend does my makeup” challenge with Ares.
Aphrodite sees herself as a patron for anyone who desires to be sexual and is damn proud of it. It infuriates her to see women, men, and others that enjoy sex be put down by people for it. It's a natural inclination for many and trying to shame someone who is comfortable with themselves in such a manner is a quick way to earn the ire of the Grecian goddess of love, beauty, and sex.
Far worse than that is seeing these same people be treated as less than human for their "promiscuity". It never fails to horrify her when people take advantage or become uncaring to a person based on the number of partners they've had.
Athena, famous among the gods for wisdom, cunning wiles, too and Aphrodite who stirs up sweet passion in the gods and subdues the tribes of mortal men
