Preparations for STITCHES West have reached peak pace in the studio. Currently, we are working on four brand new garment designs including crochet, sewing, and sashiko and boro. This project is actually revitalizing an existing garment with sashiko using some very special @aurifilthread cotton 12 wt and our favorite long sashiko needles by @cloverusa 🧵That perfect lighting? Late night sashiko🧵This stunning red is @bluemoonfiberarts Silk Thread 2 laceweight yarn.🧶 Yup… 100% silk yarn as thread is a beautiful thing and a lot of fun to work with. Because the yarn has a little more loft than an actual thread, the stitches stand out nicely from the surface of the fabric. Definitely going to be using this for other hand sewing projects. Working on a new boro project! First, there was The Jacket. Next, the Six Million Stitches Bag (coming to STITCHES Midwest!). Then, the small bag (haven’t shown y’all that one yet 🤔but it will we at STITCHES Midwest too!). Now, The Jeans!
