Today has been a very surprising and special day as we may have gotten the best iteration of a Pip-Boy Replacer we've ever received. Even to the likes of something like the Pip-Boy WS.
Replaces the usual Pip-Boy with a faithful recreation of an arm mounted Pip-Boy 2000 from Fallout 2, to be featured in Project Arroyo.
We will be looking at Fallout 4: Project Arroyo's Official Standalone Mod Release for the new Pip-Boy 2000. An replacer to swap the Pip-Boy 3000 Mk IV with a faithful recreation of an arm mounted Pip-Boy 2000 from Fallout 2, to be featured in Project Arroyo, an entire remake of Fallout 2. Originally, I wanted to cover the Project Arroyo mod at a later time, because in the grander scheme of things talking about screenshots and quick gameplay clips did not feel all that appealing- at least unless they intend to do something similar with what Fallout 4: Vault 13 did with a playable demo or similar.
That "similar" turned out to be releasing a standalone mod that will be part of the remake. And that is the rendition of the Pip-Boy 2000. This one I didn't 100% keep track of- not because of disinterest, but because of how a lot of the WIP showcases were ever actually shown anywhere. And I was actually holding back on proactively finding it just so I can see what the final product looked like. For better context, the first and probably only time hearing about this was a Twitter post announcing it. And it was not like I had any kind of expectation going forward because I did not know what I should or shouldn't be.
It wasn't until the Project Arroyo Team drops the release trailer for their new rendition of the Pip-Boy 3000. And by jove, did I start paying attention and locking in on my way back home.
This rework is insanely amazing. So much so that there is a psychadelic amount of detailwork for something that was seen 25 Years Ago. What you will get in this replacer mod is highly detailed and highly modeled (from 1k all the way to 4k) wrist mounted Pip-Boy 2000. Not to be mistaken for AlexScorpion's iteration of the 2000 where it is handheld, where your left arm is free of any bulky metals, the Project Arroyo Team full commits on consistency and goes the full on wrist-mounted route to complete the family.
Off- but also On-topic of this is the fact that I have to point out how I believe this to be the most bulkiest Pip-Boy design I've ever seen. Or if this term is better, the most blockiest. Unlike a lot of the newer Pip designs with smoother curves and rounder profiles. While this new 2000 can be just as easily described and compared to that of a giant brick. With large squaring, rigid edges, and the only thing that has a semblance of a proper curve being the near centerpiece complimenting it into a near block-y piece of equipment that can probably double as a left handed only bone wreaking ball if it was made irl and you swung it hard enough. Now don't mistake this bit coming out of a place of critique dissapointment and/or hate.
I'm talking about this because it's impressive shit. Especially when it's in regards to utilizing the original UI of the 2k and committing to the bit. Project Arroyo's Pip-Boy 2000 will feature a lot of the basic amenities of the original Pip-Boys however with the exception of no Geiger Counter. Meaning that 90% of the time, you'll have to raw dawg some situations where you need to pray that you have enough HP- especially heading towards the Glowing Sea. It's also got a handful of animations repalced by the hands of Mod Author Neeher who managed to collaborate with this project. In a form of a "Vlog Announcement."
Now don't get it twisted that this is just a replacer, because despite it being one, the mod also provides a variety of customizable paintworks. Unlike the Pip-Boy WS's variety this iteration of the Pip-Boy 2000 provides you with a handful of paintjobs- some of Neeher's fashion in terms of solid metals, woods, and leathers- but also, a variety of themed ones. From the Pimp-Boy Classic, to one of my personal favorites, the Highway Man based off Fallout 2's equivalent of the V8 represented in one device and many more.
But apart from that, that is where the coverage ends, it is a replacer after all so unfortunately it isn't like it is standalone and make it mutually exclusive, (if that's the right term,) nor is it compatible with any kind of Creation Club Paintjobs that are designed solely for the Pip-Boy 3000. I'm sure there'll be some people making patches- maybe adding more paints, and the sorts, but as it is, this is the most solid product out there in terms of content. Despite the jankiness of installing paints, but I'm sure that will be fixed in the interest of time.
But yea, that was about it, wanted to cover it- almost same day but something else got in the way. Seeya.

Skyrim Mods Showcase – Kato’s Falkreath, Fantasy Soundtrack Project and More
I’ve come up with something new for my long-running modding series on Skyrim. I can no longer do a top 5 weekly Skyrim mods because I don’t play the game like I used to, but I still love modding Skyrim and I still enjoy playing it. This is my very first Skyrim Mods Showcase and hopefully, it grows to be as big as my Top 5 Weekly Skyrim Mods. (more…)
