Modul 2

Furniture with drawer 

- individual performance - drawing, organising, implementation

Furniture should include both solid wood and veneered work joints should be carried out with machines. The drawer  should run on traditional drawer construction.

Edge hinges and furniture lock should be implemented in the workpiece. 

The course starts with one week theoretical education, where the main focus is on writing a report, that contains preparations for the next practical period.

The modul is built on preliminary knowledge of woodworking machines together with basic routine regarding setting up and sharpening hand tools.

In this course apprentices learn about:

- joining solid wood elements with machine based joinery

- making traditional drawer construction with kickers and runners

- adjusting traditional and half blind dovetail joints for drawer elements

- setting  in fixtures to the furniture elements
