Post ASSSSCAT Feels:
This gives my weekly lineup reportings a little more meaning, I think.
For the first time in a long time, I decided to do ASSSSCAT alone since Alissa had to head back to NH after class and Erin's Sunday class is over. Luckily I wasn't alone for long because Alex from my 201 decided to join me! (And then eventually Orli too! And then after the show, I realized that Dylan was also there!) Also, I didn't realize until after we had already gotten our standby tickets and lined back up for the show that Emily and Molly were sitting behind me the whole time! In the words of Ron Swanson, "K-razzy."
Now, I got really excited when I saw Zach Woods and Jon Lutz walk into the theatre and then heard via twitter that Amy and Besser were also there and that the monologist was Nick Offerman (yeah, I mean shoot me now, right?) but Lutz, Amy, and Nick only stayed for the 7:30 show. I was disappointed that I didn't get to see them, but not disappointed at all in the lineup we ended up with:
Zach Woods
Matt Besser
Neil Casey
Anthony Antamanuik
John Gemberling
Chris Gethard
Shannon O'Neil
And the monologist was Mo Rocca (!!!)
This is the part of the post where I get all gushy about how phenomenal Zach Woods is at improv. He is on top of every single game and always plays at the very top of his intelligence (and this dude is brilliant. I mean he pulled everything from obscure Broadway references to novel chit-chat topics out of his ass, and that was just tonight. He was also the one to edit basically every single scene. Such a flawless human being.
Also, I didn't realize how gray Mo Rocca's hair had gotten in the past few years. The last time I really saw him outside of the twitterverse (I hate that word and now myself) was on those VH1 I Love The... shows. Also, Alex and I couldn't stop talking about how nice his calves are ahaha.
And getting to see Matt Besser (who Alissa and I totally ran into at Starbucks this morning) do an ASSSSCAT was a holy experience (if only Amy had stayed! UGHHH!). I've seen him do other various shows at DCM (and at Starbucks this morning) but I'd never seen him do an ASSSSCAT until now.
I could go in-depth with some more amazing scene work I loved, but this post would be 10 MS Word pages long and I'm tired so... peace.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE!!! I hope you have a fantastic day full of wonderful things <3
Molly, thank you!
