Fantastic beasts trailer
Yeah, you right, Internet. Young Dumbledore Jude Law looks good.
But how am I supposed to believe that someone as fine as that fell for pancake face Johnny Depp?
Also—minor point but also major point. Why don’t any women speak in the trailer?
JK Rowling
Why you always got to let me down???
This is why we can’t have nice things.
Fic Reviews
Just as a general note, I of course read new fic reviews of fics I wrote and finished years ago. I live for that shit. It makes me so sad to see reviewers say that I’ll probably never read their review. I do! I see you! I appreciate you!! I’d message you, but more oftheb than not, these reviews are done by anons.
So this is me saying thank you for reading. Xoxoxox.
First world problems
Friends!! I got back from work today and have no power. My whole apartment complex is down, and my phone is dying. I don’t know what’s going to happen to all my food. And I don’t have enough candles to see.
Sending love to all the people in Puerto Rico who have dealt with this for months. We need to do more to help you. I’m so sorry the island is still largely without power. You all deserve better.
I feel rebellious wearing my batman boxers & marvel tank top together... This is a testament to how unexciting my life, just happens to be.
I want to sleep with someone but I don't want to have sex with them. Ya feel?
You know what though? Those people who say that you can't learn things from TV shows and fictional characters and say it's not healthy to feel not so alone when you're watching actors on the screen or reading characters from a book?
I feel so sorry for them.
Life's not really that long. I mean yeah we have 75-100 years but that seems like less and less time the older I get and the bottom line is that there are not enough people in this world for you to learn everything you need to. There's not enough strangers on the street and and friends and family and neighboors and coaches and teachers and leaders and coworkers and media people for you to learn all there is about what living is and why its so important. There's not enough fate, not enough coincidence for you to always learn what you need right when you neede it.
Books have this amazing power of preserving lifetimes, of keeping a whole 80-100 years in a couple hundred pages. By reading you live a thousand lives and you learn so much more than you could ever have before. By watching TV shows, you see things, watch characters make choices that you'll never have to make, but that are important to know your answer to. They give you the unique opportunity to step into someone else's shoes for a while and understand them.
Because of books and television shows I know what it is like to be a king, a peasant, a time-traveler, a madman, a rebel, a lonely girl, a broken girl, an angel, a demon and so many more things. We have this capability for immortality, we can live as many lives as stories we can experience in our lifetime and I think that's just one of the most incredible things about our world.
I'm just shell-shocked that people can be so un-invested in stories that aren't "real life". Real life teaches you a lot, and is important to experience. You will live a good life without stories.
But would you live an extraordinary one? One where you could sympathize with that depressed friend whose perspective you now understand, one where you fought for human rights just as hard as the rebel army did against the evil queen, one where you understood how complex our minds are and that there is no way to guess thoughts based on appearances? Could you live a life where instead of saying "She never says anything interesting, she's so shallow?" your immediate thought is that "no one's ever been interested in her ideas". Stories let you see the best in people.
I guess its just. Books and TV shows have done SO much for my capability to empathize and experience life to it's fullest extent. People who deny themselves that experience? I highly recommend you give it a second chance.
