It is still quite unknown among foreign travellers in Thailand, yet Sangkhlaburi is a terrific place to visit. I had a great time when I stopped there for a few days back in October to explore the Dam, the Mon village and the surrounding hills covered in temples. Here’s the video we took during those days.

First three photos! As you can tell these are photos of photos so I apologize again for the quality. Did some small edits on my phone.
Okay so this is sangkhala buri. It’s the closest I have ever been to Myanmar and it’s pretty damn close (less than an hour)! That’s just a complicated way of saying we are in the west. The big wooden bridge is the mon bridge which is currently being repaired as it was damaged last year during monsoon rains. I say currently, however I have yet to see anyone actually working on it. Either due to the monsoon season or due to the damaged bridge, it’s pretty quiet around here. We’ve found a nice little café that involves a bit of a climb to get to but is absolutely worth it. You could spend hours reading there and waiting out the rain. The scenic water village and the idyllic mon village are really worth seeing and you get a sense of rural life here - a big difference compared to non-stop Bangkok. The bugs are horrific though and are eating us alive it seems.
