They are less known that other famous markets in Bangkok, however truly original: read about the Amulet Market and the Flower Market
Two less known market in Bangkok that you should visit: the Amulet Market and the Flower Market
I bet you've never heard about Rot Fai Srinakarin Market, even if you've been to Bangkok more than once. Read this new blog to find out why I think it's the best night market in the city.
My favorite night market in Bangkok: Rod Fai Train Market
The rainy season has come to Krabi and the Andaman coast of Thailand and, as every year, touristic islands and National Parks announce their closure. The first announcement, last week, came, a bit surprisingly, about Maya Bay, the most popular destination in Southern Thailand, which had just reopened on January 1st after a 3 year shutdown. Maya Bay will be closed from August to September. Then, the Mu Koh Lanta National Park announced that several islands under its jurisdiction will close from May 16th (yesterday!) to October 14th to help the eco-systems to recover. The list of islands includes: the two Koh Rok, Koh Ngai, Koh Has, Hin Daeng and His Muang and Khao Mai Kaew Cave.
Another island in Krabi Province which is expected to close sometimes between August and September is Koh Hong.
But if you're planning a holiday in Krabi during the green season, don't worry, there's plenty of other islands, beaches and national parks to discover, from the 4 islands to Railay peninsula, Phi Phi Don, Koh Yao, Koh Jum, amazing waterfalls and mountain treks.

New Blog: A day trip to the 4 islands, off Trang coast
A day trip to Koh Kradan, Koh Ngai and Koh Muk, off Trang coast
If Island hopping were an Olympic specialty, I'd be a Gold medal for sure. These shots are of Koh Ngai, Koh Kradan and Koh Muk, Southern Thailand. They belong to Krabi and Trang provinces and can be visited on a day trip by private long tail boat. Here you'll find some of the most pristine beaches and waters in all Thailand.
After a long, long pause due to my travelling back to Italy and some other complications, here's the first video of the year: Back to Maya Bay, a day trip to newly opened THE BEACH, in Phi Phi Leh. The good, the bad and what I think about this grand reopening.
I’m back to my home country for a few months, but as soon as I go back to Thailand I’ll have to find a new house and relocate, since my landlord decided to kick me out of the lovely beach house where I’ve been living for the last 2 years. 🏚 So, I’ve already started to google for a new place to live in Klong Muang, and the results are scary: there are some really absurd / creepy houses on the market, quite similar to what you can see in this video from my friend Giulietta (who lives in Phuket).
You might know that I live in Krabi, and if you are not too familiar with Thailand you might have wondered where it is, and why did I choose to settle in this Southern Thailand province. After travelling to Krabi for several years, on solo travels or holidays with friends and family, two years ago I decided to move here for good. Since then, I’ve been exploring the province regularly, visiting the most touristic attractions as well as the less known places. To help you planning your next trip to Krabi, here are some of the best things to see and do, from a resident’s perspective.

Hi I'm Maya, an Italian living in Krabi, Thailand. I'm blogging about my life and travels in South East Asia.
Read my new post about the things I don’t like about Thailand. I’ve just started the blog, so a little encouragement would make me more focused and inspired to write often... Have a look and share your thoughts if you are interested in travelling, adventures and life as an expat in South East Asia.
Paradise is in Koh Yao: two almost unknown islands that are a Must see when you travel in South Thailand.
This video is the tale of a Sunday day trip with my group of friends, a few weeks ago. It’s in Italian with English subtitles.

Thailand is much more than Phuket, Krabi, Bangkok, Samui, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. This post is about a few less known locations in South East Thailand: Khanom, Phatthalung and Nakhon Si Thammarat where visitors can experience Thai hospitality and delicious cuisine without mass tourism.

Have you heard about the Wat Samphran? This temple should have figured in Game of Thrones, due to its unique appearance: a pink cylinder wrapped in a dragon’s coils, topped by a huge dragon’s head. And the fantastic thing is that you get to walk inside the dragon’s body to reach the panoramic terrace.
