send “you okay?” to find my muse sitting alone on a roof at night.
Melia wasn’t expecting anyone to be around right now. She had found a nice, quiet roof in Colony 9 to sit on, and she had been lost in her own mind until now. So the sound of another voice behind her caused her to jump in surprise for a moment, but she relaxed upon seeing who had come to visit her.
“Ah, Shulk. I hadn’t expected to see you here.” She said, giving the boy the faintest of smiles before turning to look back up at the night sky. “Yes, I’m quite all right. I had found myself lost in thought before you arrived.”
Despite her words, it was clear that something was on Melia’s mind. There was a long pause in the conversation as she considered whether or not she should dump her problems on Shulk or not. He was a friend. And friends were there for each other when it counted.
“Truth be told... When I close my eyes, my mind still fills with images of those who lost their life to the Telethia in Makna Forest. I often wonder if I could’ve prevented their deaths if I had been stronger.”
“Their deaths were not in vain, but they should not have had to die at all, just for the sake of protecting me.”
