Monster Genesis: Three (or I guess four) connected characters

Mina Serizawa (based on Miki Saegusa): An old friend of Elsie's as a kid that doesn't see her again for years until after her mutation, and also a kid in the Typhon organization. Her family has a ancient history of mysticism, and although she's more scientifically-minded, she does have what she assumed was high emotional intelligence but is said flat-out by Elsie to be a lesser form of mind-reading; Mina has psychic powers. Later on, she finds the root of her lineage's psionic leanings...

Monara (adult above, chick below; inspired by Mothra): an ancient phoenix goddess and guardian of the earth. Typhon did vaguely know of her from when she fought off Omugon in 1964, but little else was known of her and she was only known as "The Phoenix" until Elsie, Mina, and Co. come across her and her twin priestesses (with the event being known as Omugon vs. The Phoenix). Her life cycle is equivalent to Mothra's; hatching from an egg as a seemingly-altricial (but more precocial than you'd think), and then combusting into a ash-colored torpor state (think pupa), and then the bird bursts into flames, which rise and become Monara's adult form.

Mollora (left) and Belvera (right) (inspired by the shobijin): The aforementioned twin prietesses and the first connections to Monara the group meets before seeing the divine bird in a loose outline of Ghidorah, The Three-Headed Monster. While not evil like the fairy in the Rebirth of Mothra trilogy she shares her name with, Belvera does have more of a snarky/mischevious/daring side than her sister, and the two often get into banter.
