My review of tadc: the writing is not very good

#dialogues in particular are fucking abysmal #not to be rude but how come projects can sometimes get this insane funding and still not spend a single penny to hire actual writers #what the hell is going on? do they not have a writing team?#why does literally half of the movie consist just of shameless trauma dumping scenes with no subtlety?#anyway. kinda unbelievable but I hope people and especially children had fun #moneposting

frieren is at its best when it's not trying to do ship bait or justify the pointless magic system and instead focuses on the themes of loss, grief, memory, love and friendship, which imo are handled pretty well for a shounen anime

i know that psychological shit isn’t like 100% foolproof but it is crazy how so many people have called frye ugly when her design, ESPECIALLY her face, employs just about every design principle that tells you a character is meant to read as cute. bigger head in proportion to her body, features set relatively low on her face, small nose and relatively small mouth (but with fangs that stick out!) PLUS her big floppy ears!!

and her fun silhouette with her small shirt big pant thing!!!!! stop sleeping on frye she is so cute she is so pretty i love her!!!!!!! plus her lil accent is so cute when you really play attention to it!!!!!!!!! frye onaga you will always be famous!!!!!!!!!
