"maybe we shouldn't do this" Xiao said softly as the wolf demon leaned against the kitchen counter and watched Shanyao treat his wounds," Xiaotain is way out of our league. Even with Red's help we might still fail."

"Puppy..." Shanyao said softly as he stopped wrapping his injured arm to turn to his partner. His whole world, the one who wasn't massively changed by the wish. He placed his hand on Xiao's cheek," we'll just need more time. I shot the gun too early. I'm sorry I got hurt but I'll be okay."

"what if you won't be next time Glowstone? Last time you two fought I couldn't do anything to help you" Xiao said fear littered throughout his tone as he nuzzled into the monkey's hand,"I can't lose you Shine. I wouldn't be able to take it."

"you're not going to lose me or Liu okay? Remember, we'll both be near the artifact when we reverse this and we won't lose any of the time we've spent together" Shanyao reassured him with a voice as sweet as honey. Xiao sighed and pressed his forehead against Shanyao's. There was no changing Shanyao's mind.

"I love you shine I love you so much" Xiao said as he wrapped his arms around Shanyao's waist. It was a few quiet moments of peace before macaque slammed the front door open.

"did I miss it? I was on a date with Peachy and lost track of time-" macaque said in a panic as he slid in.

"Liu I just cleaned that carpet" Xiao said with a sigh as he rubbed his brow. Macaque quick looked at carpet and realized he had mud on his shoes. He back track and put his shoes up. Shadow clones going to clean up the mud as he did so.

"sorry, sorry, did I miss it?" Macaque asked as he ran back to the kitchen over his shadow clones," also ouch baba what happened?"

"don't worry about it kiddo what were you worried about missing?" Shanyao asked as Xiao let him go.

"so I didn't miss it woo!" Macaque said excitedly. Dammit Xiao's excitement rubbed off on the kid. Shanyao raised a brow and looked at Xiao.

"well while you were gone I went to the doctor's office to get myself looked over and-"

"I was right!" Macaque said as he was so freaking pumped. Completely forgetting his manners in the process.
