Monoma/Todoroki was not a pairing I ever thought of before, but I've been unreasonably charmed by them in Flapjack09's fic Genre Awareness.

ok, so. this might seem like a random ship, but think about it. think about them hanging out because Monoma wants to learn how to use two quirks at a time, and [Half-Hot Half-Cold] seems like a good place to start from. and then, Shoto notices how elegant Monoma is with his quirk.

Neito smirks at him, and explains to him that, simply, he knows how to apply blueprints.

and this gives Shoto pause.

because to him, in all of his years, his quirk has always been something powerful and explosive, something spiky and sharp.

but he looks at Monoma's hands, where clear, gentle shapes are taking form, and it's like a new side of his quirk has been revealed to him.

I believe they'd bond over touch.

Shoto has always been treated roughly. rough training, rough kicks, rough hands.

alternatively, you could say that his sister's touch was more gentle, as she treated his wounds... but it was always shaky and anxious.

but when Neito brushes him, his touch is gentle, his hands soft. Shoto can't get enough.

(especially, he can't get enough of Monoma's lips. they're soft, so soft, and he can feel that even when they brush over his ugly, ugly and unlovable scar. he still can't believe he was lucky enough to find someone who'd love the ugliest parts of him, but Neito has always managed to find beauty anywhere he could look.)

and Neito,well,he's always been avoided, avoided like the plague, kids bumping into him was enough to make them cry, scared that he'd stolen their quirk.

but Shoto never seems bothered by him and his touch. Shoto never flinches away. Shoto is stable, and Shoto can be leaned on.

just two quirk nerds who finally found someone to yap with.

think about them watching documentaries together, and falling asleep next to eachother.

Monoma picking up Midoriya's habit of muttering, so that while they yap, there's a storm so powerful that the 'mutter' onomatopoeias break the 4th wall and get out of the screen.

how much fun would Monoma have, while teasing Midoriya 'Meansexual' Izuku? way too much.

Imagine Bakugo being soooo sick and tired of them being disgustingly lovey-dovey, he wants to commit nerdicide. Monoma would do his BEST to piss him off, I PROMISE.
