Monsta X MTL... To like their s/o calling them oppa
I would like to clarify these are our personal opinions and do not reflect the members’ actual feeling towards this issue.
*For this post “Oppa” is being used in the place of a petname, not in the literal use for older brother/older male.
Kihyun - Kihyun would expect it, you are younger than him so he’d expect you to respect him, he’d expect you to say it while around other and also when it’s just you two. He’d even go as far as calling you out about it if you called him anything else whether you are in public or private, since he wouldn’t care where you were, he’d see it as disrespect if you called him something else when he told you he preferred oppa.
Hyungwon - Hyungwon would be like Kihyun, he expects it out of respect, he wouldn’t care where you two are, he still expects it. Yet, he wouldn’t go as far as calling you out about it, he’d just let it pass over unless you did it constantly, then he might start calling you out about saying it.
Shownu - Shownu would like if you called him oppa, out of respect of course, but then again he wouldn’t get angry or mad if you felt uncomfortable saying it. Now, he might correct you if say you were around his parents or someone that knows he is older than you, but in private he wouldn’t care much, as long as you didn’t call him something rude.
Hoseok / Wonho - Wonho wouldn’t mind being called oppa, yet he’d turn into a tomato when you do. He’d like the idea of his significant other calling him oppa, but then it’s just not practical because he starts to blush when you do. Even if you called him it in private, he’d still be red, not because he’s doesn’t like you calling him it, he just gets really shy and embarrassed by how much he likes you calling him it.
Minhyuk - Minhyuk wouldn’t mind you calling him oppa, if it was in public around people he knows would judge you for not calling him it, yet he’s not going to demand you to call him it or ask for you to call him it. He’s fine if you want to call him it, but he’s also fine if you don’t want to call him it.
Changkyun / I.M - I.M is just indifferent, if you wanna call him oppa cool, if you don’t cool. He wouldn’t force you or persuade you to call him it if you were uncomfortable doing so, he just really wouldn’t care, call him I.M, call him Changkyun, call him Daniel, call him oppa, he just wouldn’t care as long as you didn’t call him something rude; yet, he’d probably want you to call him his street name instead.
Jooheon - Jooheon would be uncomfortable, whether it’s in public or private, he’d prefer to the be the younger one in the relationship and if he’s not he’d want to drop the honorifics quick.
