REVIEW: Beats By Dre Mixr DJ Headphones

If you are considering purchasing a new pair of expensive headphones, then your options may have included a pair of Beats by Dre. headphones.  These are no small purchase, and once you decide you want to go down this route, you hope that you have actually made the correct choice.  Just like the top end Pioneer offerings, Monster’s Beats by Dre headphones are rather large and menacing.  These are quick to get noticed and will carry much more weight than a cheaper set in the sub two hundred dollar range.  These will likely not be put through much physical abuse due to the thought of losing them carelessly. If you thought trying to compare speakers was difficult, try comparing speaker cables apart from each other.  Without writing on the sides of the cables, how the hell would you know what you are actually using?  And even if you did know their brands and specs, how do you really know that one is better than the other.  In a typical speaker system it will be pretty difficult to judge a cable’s quality by the sound quality – but once you use them on a nice system that an audiophile would own, the differences will become noticeable.  Speaker cables, much like power cables, are constantly being branded and labeled to do “this” or “that”, once you get the sale pitch you can begin to discover what they are really all about. I got a part time job at Best Buy, and I spent 4-5 hours there today getting trained. It was kind of pointless because all the information I got today was in the handbook. The GM talked about how good the employee discount was, and he used the example of monster cables. He says they cost over $100, and with the employee discount, we could get them for less than $10. I had a really hard time keeping a neutral expression on my face when he said that. I think those monster cables are ripoff, and he just told me why. The GM is super driven by measurable results, and I'm afraid I'll have a hard time meeting his expectations. I'm going to approach this with a good attitude until I figure out what my next steps are in finding a job that's more in line with my long-term goals.
