Been wanting to change a few small things about Monster Dragon for a couple days. The main changes are:
Made Monster Dragon’s smallness more apparent. I did previously state she was smaller than most other monsters, but I didn’t elaborate on HOW small. Monster Dragon is barely a bit larger/taller than normal Dragon. I tried to show just how minimal the difference is with the size of the Cursed Book still being almost on par with her normal look.
I decided that Monster Dragon didn’t really need to change that much from her normal self. Her monster form comes from a completion of the curse, meaning her body would finish completely changing into that of an imp creature, and The Imp would have way more control of her. She didn’t need to become a big bulky lanky monster. (Imps also tend to be on the smaller side in my experience with fantasy stuff)
Monster Dragon, despite being smol, is quite scrappy(because The Imp is an ass). She gets in a LOT of tussles with Librarians while scavenging books. You may notice wire-claw marks on her wing membrane.
Removed the various scrolls tied to her body, except for her dragon scrolls on her horn. The other scrolls aren’t needed, as this version of Dragon doesn’t keep scrolls for trading or gifting or personal interest. Instead, she stuffs various books and pages into the sack she drags along with her tail, then deposits them all in piles at her Library. She never seems to touch them unless she’s cursing them, but will get quite pissed if anyone else touches or tries to remove them.
And a few other fun facts:
Monster Conductor is the only one she allows in her Library.
Her green shawl seems smaller because a lot of it has been ripped and lost. That’s all that’s left of it.
Monster Dragon is sort of a merging of Dragon with The Imp, with The Imp having far more influence. But there are still many Dragon-like things left behind, such as the obvious reluctance to let go of her scrolls or her green shawl, and her tolerance of The Conductor. She’s definitely still in there somewhere.
This would only happen if Dragon was forced to read the book again, or if she for whatever reason cracked it back open herself.
Dragon has a Library train cart that Monster Conductor still regularly hauls around for her if she needs.
In this train cart, you can probably still find the mask Tiger Salamander made for her among the clutter, though it’s in desperate need of repair.
