I saw the trend of #monsterme going around, and I felt the need to create something personal, so I designed my monster self to indulge in the inspiration I was given. I like him a lot~ His burlap body filled with orange muscle and his furry head filled with rising steam, his noise cancelling headphones drilled into his skull, the umbrella controlled by the string of muscle over the button on the handle, the accordion legs that make him sway more the faster he runs, adorned with my favorite watches in his wrist and my favorite pins and patches in his shoulder, all creating someone I'd call a friend. Just don't make a sound, and keep an eye on the lights on the sides of the headphones to see if noise cancelling has been activated. If it has, he may be pending your death for forcing him to drown out your sound and all others with it.
Portrait of my dark side... Based on a my photo I played along with an audio that illustrators have been using on Instagram. I’ve been trying to polish my photoshop illustration skills, what do you think? #illustration #instaillustration #imstaart #monsterme #photoshop #photoshopillustration #selfportrait (en Asagaya) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPuQq7UHva_/?utm_medium=tumblr
#monsterme This is the source for the Characterizer head. I thought if it mapped pretty closely to my face, it might preserve more of the details - but no dice. Still fun to play with. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-vLHfMht5r/?igshid=owa7uzsxygg3
#monsterme Playing around with Character Animator’s Characterizer, figuring out how it maps drawings. Julia took monsterme out for a drive. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-vJ57phv-C/?igshid=w9h3zegw1ejq

Thought I would explain some stuff about these personas. Just some bahbble that gives me something to do while I'm stuck in bed.
I guess I would consider these two to be my main personasbut they’re both a bit different and yet the same. I’ve yet to name them both(an arduous process to be sure) so for now I’ll just call them sheep and monster to keep it clear and simple.
Generally speaking sheep serves as an ‘in-universe’ persona for my personal projects. A character who can interact with the other characters and has some influence on the stories there. Denizens of that universe have a few titles for sheep, mainly things along the lines of the ‘cosmic dreamer’ since it is believed that sheep dreamed up the world and all its inhabitants.
Monster is more of a representation that I use for interactions with other folk and their characters. I guess you could consider it an ‘out-of-world’ persona.
Despite functioning on two different planes the two are still connected. You might have seen that vent doodle I did with sheep transforming into monster at some point. Drawings like that are fairly common which inherently tie the two together.
The best way I can describe their relationship is that it is two sides of the same coin. I like to compare this to astrology since I feel it makes it a bit easier to understand. People are known to have a sun sign and a moon sign. The sun sign generally represents an individual’s overall personality while a moon sign speaks more about the raw hidden nature that underlies everything.
Sheep then would be the sun sign, someone who wants to see everyone happy but tends to be too shy in most cases to say anything. Monster is more like the moon sign. Monster also wants to see folks have a happy ending but is by no means discreet about it and will hug and smooch all of you if it has to. It can and will be nosy and sometimes annoying with its interfering, especially if it has grown attached to an individual or pairing.
I don’t know any particular scenario or emotion that triggers the change between these two. Right now it more relates to how strong an emotion is. Sheep remains fairly tame and reserved (as symbolized by the crown being worn as a collar) but when an emotion becomes too strong then that seems to be the spark that allows monster to come out. Monster has little reservations and tends to be a bit more easily demanding and in control of what it wants (signified by the crown atop its head)
Loosely speaking, I consider Sheep to be an INFP while monster is an ENFP if we want to bring the meyer-briggs into this and give you something to look up so you can gather a simple portrait for these two.
This by no means is a finished template for the two but surely this is the closest I’ve gotten to making a reasonable use and explanation of my personas.
Thanks for listening to all this bahbble. I hope it was mildly interesting at the least!
