Joey Anderson - Monotheism 2023 Deeptrax Records
In my younger years I used to see monotheism and pantheism as two contradictory schools of thought & belief. But somehow now, I'm able to clearly see it through, in that the two are just complimentary perspectives, each enhancing the other.
Pantheism is to see God in everything whereas Monotheism is to see everything in God.
When monotheism says: 'He is the First and the Last; the Manifest and the Hidden.' It is in general turning the divine into all encompassing.
Then pantheism comes and shifts the angle of focus and says: There's nothing that is not divine.
So all that we have is where you place yourself in the larger evolution of time and space, and in which direction you choose to lay your focus. Monotheism is when your entire focus is on the divine and you see nothing but God. Pantheism is at the opposite spectrum when your entire focus is on everything that's not God and you still find the divine in it.
I'm the seed. I'm also the roots. I'm also the heavenly drops that fell down as rain and blended with my earth. I'm also the trunk. I'm also the branches. I'm also the leaves. I'm also the fruit.
To me, being at the center of these two apparently contradictory belief system is what is more important, to place myself at that zero angle from which I'm not supporting one over the other but rather appreciating the beauty in all its varying degrees. It is not where I lean towards that matters, as long as the touch of divinity is not lost, it doesn't matter if I kiss the sacred black stone or if I kiss the cheeks of my beloved - each carries the element of divine in it.
Some day I hope I also find the perfect equilibrium between the warring factions of monogamy and polygamy. Peace between humans take precedence over peace between mythical gods...
