September, where did you go?
The weather is getting a bit nippy and definitely a very blowy here. I’m now wearing my big cardigans which will likely become my ‘uniform’ until the warmer weather comes back next year. It feels ages since I’ve done a monthly recap but it feels like a lot happened in September so let’s give it a go! november:
kitchen cabinets full of spices & baking supplies, 4:00p golden hour transforming the world for just an hour every day, peanut butter cups & black coffee, a new green shirt to wear at Thanksgiving, catching hints of maple all around, inviting friends over for movie nights, and in the spirit of coming festivity, treating each day like a little party by prolonging ordinary conversations with friends; laughing & crying with them in the middle of the day, then carrying on with your errands.
recovering from the decadence of late-october, but caught in the middle of, anticipating the even more-so robust treasures to come in the closing weeks of november & through december.
august: thunderstorms that arrive at 3:00pm on the dot every afternoon, pain au chocolat with iced lattes, morning walks in full sun, night blooming jasmine carried heavily on the humid night air, the sound of string instruments tuning up to one another, asking friends to pop over to the thrift store.
i know this hard, difficult summer is winding itself down to a close. i look ahead towards september & october.
