My city made it to National Geographic. Wow. To actually be here and feel the energy was magnetic and heavy especially in the evening hours. It felt like our ancestors walked those streets with us, stood with us and protected us. Not one of us who was out there caught COVID as we were divinely protected. I am so proud of my city. May we continue as a collective to fight for those injustices that black and brown ppl face everyday. May we continue to say their names.

Yesterday the Robert E. Lee statue, one of America’s largest monuments to the Confederacy, was removed from its pedestal on Monument Avenue where it has been for over 130 years.
