ᛝ ─── IN WHICH: for months Dr. Robinavitch insisted he didn’t really care for your taste in music… until one night in his apartment, while you were doing your skincare at the bathroom mirror, you caught him in the reflection lip-syncing to your Spotify playlist .

FOR MONTHS Dr. Robinavitch would ask you almost every time — if you had any other music taste besides pop music.

Your laugh was always soft when he said it. “What, you don’t like my music?” you’d tease, glancing over at him. He’d just shrug his shoulders, giving you that look. The one where you couldn’t really tell if he was serious or just messing with you. You’d smile a little to yourself. “We could always listen to music you like,” you’d say. But the playlist never changed.

Tonight wasn’t any different. You had already finished dinner and everything, so you decided to start your skincare routine. “You mind if I put on a little music?” you asked.

“Not at all,” Robby said.

You headed into the bathroom and started in on your routine. A few minutes later a song came on that sounded familiar to Robby. When you looked up into the mirror, you could see him in the reflection in the bedroom, putting some things away.

Then you noticed it.

He had started mouthing the words. A quiet giggle slipped out of you. You stopped what you were doing and turned around. “I thought you didn’t like my taste in music?”

He glanced over, caught.

“It’s catchy,” he said with a small shrug. “I can’t help it.”

You smiled at that.

“What other songs do you even have on here anyway?” he asked, nodding toward your phone. “Who’s Sabrina Carpenter?” “Oh— um,” you said, a little sheepish. “She’s another pop artist. I love listening to her too.” Right as you said it, Please Please Please started playing.

Robby just looked at you.

He asked you what the song was from earlier. “Oh — that?” you said. “That was Lana Del Rey. The song was Cinnamon Girl.” You rinsed your hands off and glanced at him again through the mirror, a small smile tugging at your mouth.

“Don’t worry,” you added lightly, “I won’t say anything to Abbot about you lip-syncing to her.” Robby immediately threw his hands up. “It was catchy,” he said, half defensive. “What do you want me to say?”

You were still standing there in his shirt, shorts underneath, when he looked over at you again. His eyes moved over you for a second before he shook his head a little. “Wearing my shirt again, I see,” he said. You looked down at it, lightly pinching the fabric between your fingers before looking back up at him. “This?” you said softly. He nodded once. You tilted your head at him.

“Robinavitch… you left it out for me, so don’t play me.” That made him chuckle under his breath as he stepped a little closer. “Maybe,” he said, voice quieter now. “Looks good on you.”

He was close enough now that you could feel the warmth of him, and without really thinking about it you lifted your arms and wrapped them loosely around his neck. He didn’t hesitate, his hands settling at your waist as he pulled you the rest of the way in , and you buried your head in his neck.

“I’m staying,” you said quietly. “Of course you are,” Robby said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. There was a small pause before he spoke again. “Oh — I’m getting a dog tomorrow.”

You looked up at him. “You are?” “Yeah,” he nodded. “Maybe you could come with me to pick her up.” “Her?” you asked. “Yeah. She’s a German Shepherd,” he said. “She’s beautiful.” You smiled a little at that. “Maybe after our shift we could go pick her up,” he added. “Okay,” you said.

Author notes thank you so much for taking the time to read this .. had this idea for while now in finally got around to it the song had been stuck in my head for some time now and I thought Robby be good fit for this so I went with it so I hope you enjoy this my third time writing for him so I appreciate any kind feed back in love :) if you don’t like it I understand
