Zooey x Mina has taken over my brain recently... (They are meant to be older here)

About these characters in canon(?): From what I can recall, Mina was made to be a love interest in the Archie comics for Sonic. In one of the future comics, she ends up being married to Tails. In Boom, Zooey is the girl Tails has a crush on. Therefore, I wanted to ship them! I do love the idea of just... Two characters who are meant to be the love interest to another character- getting together.
Now, their ages?: According to their wikis, Zooey is 8 and Mina is 16 which is super uncool (like... Mina basically grew up with this kid (Tails)... Kinda weird but idk... maybe thats just me)- meaning in Archie canon Mina married someone who is 8 years younger. Which is FINE when you're OLDER. I, however, never knew Zooey was this young? I always saw her as somewhere around Amys age to be completely honest... I was VERY surprised when looking at the wiki to find out she was canonly 8??? So, for this, I'm not letting her 'canon' age be 8, she is indeed going to be 10-12. As for Mina, I always thought she was 14/15 because as a kid I always just assumed things and grew up thinking she was around that age. My point being: I ship them as adults. If they met as kids I would not ship them. The lore for this is they meet as adults!
So for this sort AU idea thing.. Their canon childhood ages are 10-12 and 14-15. Still a big/weird age gap for them. So to me, for my whole mindset of them meeting- Zooey is 20-22 and Mina is 24-25. Even if they did have that 8 year age gap and Zooey was 20-22 and Mina was 28-30 I'd be fine with it, because in this they are meeting as adults. I can't stress this enough.
How they met: Zooey has grown up on Bygone Island (is that what it's called in the show?). She became the towns librarian and writes poetry in her free time. She will go see every band that dares to visit their island even when they are well aware Eggman is there. This includes Mina. Mina came to Bygone Island during her tour, and even though Zooey didn't know who exactly Mina was, she was excited to hear some new music nonetheless! This is how the two met, after Mina sang her songs she wanted to explore this small town and ran into her new fan.
