Moofest
Lee Smillie invited Patricia and Jamie who run Moofest into college today to talk to us about their festival and they’ve asked a few of us to get involved, I could only stay for 30 mins as I had to get back to the church , however we said that once we’ve got next week out of the way we’de start to come up with plans and have a site meeting so we can see what size the festival site is and so we can discuss what we have to play with. Its in its 3rd year this time around and with over 3-4000 people spread over 2 days , its quite a biggie for the local community. Really pleased and excited to be asked to get involved with something on this scale. my minds already in motion, whoa there boy, one festival at a time.
Festival Announcement -- Moogfest 2016 + Dial-Tones LA
If you haven’t heard it by now, Moogfest announced their lineup for 2016 and it is driving tons of people up the walls. It is going to be in Durham, North Carolina but don’t fret my LA friends: THIS SUNDAY, Moogfest is presenting Dial Tones at the Ace Hotel. This Sunday, Nosaj Thing, Shlohmo, Teebs, and more will be doing a special performance, plus YACHT is hosting the after party on the roof!
What separates Moogfest from any other festival is its emphasis on the technology of music -- which I find to be extra vital because technology is so, so important in the music industry nowadays. Moogfest focuses on both the machinery and the sound that technology adds to music.
Moogfest will be featuring workshops to help the community better understand the role of technology in music, film screenings with deep exploration of film scores, art installations, radio tech, and so much more. Plus, they’ve got a great lineup that includes Blood Orange, Ryan Hemsworth, YACHT, and hundreds more artists and visionaries.
