I'm so glad that there's people discussing Michikatsu/Tanjiro parallels, I hardly ever see them together and it's like OUUGGHH

And Nezuko and Yoriichi,,,, I WISH WE GOT TO SEE MORE PARALLELS BETWEEN THEM ALL,,,,

(It's why I love reading Moon Breathing Nezuko fics. Also because we need more moon breathing, it was cool as shit. What it her bda was more similar to kokushibos?

...Or maybe she keeps the sun connection whilst Tanjiro, unable to mimic sun breathing completely, ends up using a form of moon breathing..?)

there's nothing that I love and go berserk over more than michikatsu/kokushibo and tanjiro parallels

thing is, whenever I have more than one favorite character in a series, I have like this strong urge to search for parallels between the two--in this case, its with michikatsu/kokushibo and tanjiro who surprisingly have tons of parallels. makes me wonder if tanjiro could have ended up like kokushibo in some other world. then obviously I began drawing the duo and creating random au's of them meeting/becoming a dad-son duo. im actually glad that im not the only one who goes crazy over these two and their parallels (looking at you sm0lbetch just like me fr). as for yoriichi and nezuko parallels, I have to admit there's also plenty between them (in fact even more than michikatsu/tanjiro) but I'll discuss that another day whenever I have the chance.

as for moon breathing, lord YES I love it sm as well--honestly, unpopular opinion but I feel like moon breathing suits tanjiro more than nezuko...I just can't imagine nezuko wielding it 😭 but the idea is still cool in an au nonetheless^

all in all we (yes we) need more tsugikuni/kamado content--there isn't enough

Chihiro Tomioka

Chihiro is a confident young women she certainly didn't inherit from her father. While not Shinobu's biological daughter, she was quickly brought into the Insect Hashira's teachings and care again the moment she showed signs of communication.

While the extra complications and concerns about her birth are in the rumor mill of lower or newer slayers tend to be a topic of interest, no words are said near or around the upper ranks. Chihiro is very skilled with her blade, and goes on to use Moon Breathing and bringing the ability back into the Corps.

Headcanons for breathing styles (what you need to have/be able to do to have this breathing style?)

Sun breathing - To learn the strongest breathing you just need two things, which are important. You need to have good and peaceful soul and just not be a greedy and bad person - it'll make things easier to learn, and you need to have a great reflex.

Moon breathing - Without being a samurai before being a demon slayer and slightly dislocated (flexible or whatever) joints, don't even think about learning it.

Stone breathing - Since it takes to know how to handle every weapon but katana, so if you aren't strong enough or you don't know how to do it, just don't try or you'll end up without leg and hand

Love breathing - It's almost as same as stone breathing (in weapons), so mainly you need flexibility

Insect breathing - Speed and thrust strength. Insect breathing is nothing without speed and poison, so to cut (rather pierce) demon's head, you need to pierce and inject the poison (breathing is based on poisons, because on the tip of the katana, there's a small hole which let's poison out, since the poison is inside the sword. Katana with this breathing is very prone to breakage)

Thunder/Rumble breathing - Leg strength and speed. This breathing boosts your speed to the point it's comparison to the speed at which lightning strikes, so if you want that, you NEED to have those things.

Water breathing - It's low-key based on internal peace and arm strength. With calmness, you can achieve much more than normally and with arm strength it's always easier to behead a demon

Wind breathing - Just don't have asthma and you'll be fine

Flame breathing - Nothing. It's the easiest breathing to have and it doesn't take much to learn it, except for fact that you need to understand the techniques because first flame pillar was shit at explaining on a paper how techniques work

Mist breathing - Great sight. Since there's mist around you, you have to see the demon in mist

Flower breathing - Awareness that it can kill you and slightly above the average flexibility.

Beast breathing - Just be prepared to use your raw strength... And flexibility to the point you don't know if you just terribly dislocated your knee or it's supposed to be like that!..

Serpent breathing - Idk, probably flexibility of a snake since everything in this is about snakes

Sound breathing - Physical straight and speed, it'll guarantee you speed of the sound after getting a demon slayer mark

Alternative timeline, where Tanjiro becomes the second ever sun breather. And his sister Nezuko, not a demon in this timeline, is the second ever moon breather. The two siblings rise to the rank of hashira and defeated Muzan.
