August 20 is the birthday of Misako Kotani, the second actress to play Rei Hino/Sailor Mars in the Sailor Moon musicals. She was the longest running actress to play Sailor Mars.

Misako was also part of Moon Lips, the group of Sera Myu actresses who performed both the version of “Moonlight Densetsu” used during the Sailor Moon S and Sailor Moon SuperS seasons of the anime, and the version of “La Soldier” that played in the background during Neo-Queen Serenity and Small Lady’s battle against Wiseman in episode 88.

Random Sailor Moon Trivia:

There were two versions of “Moonlight Densetsu”, the opening song of the first four seasons of the original anime. The first version was performed by DALI, and was used for the duration of the first season and Sailor Moon R. The second version was performed by Moon Lips, and was used for Sailor Moon S and Sailor Moon SuperS.

Which version of Moonlight Densetsu is your favorite?

Moon Lips

DALI preformed Moonlight Densetsu for seasons 1 and 2 and Moon Lips preformed it for seasons 3 and 4. 

Personally, I like DALI's version much better. It has a lovely dreamlike, nostalgic quality to it. So, which version do you prefer?
