the “and now, i die.” line from rook during weisshaupt is one of the funniest lines in the game because it represent how much they are that guy (tm) that just showed up. they know how ridiculous it is that their trying to fight an elven vape cloud god and it’s neo pet. they just are like “well fuck it, we ball”

he has been born. welcome to the frankenstein!dca au Calypso (this au’s Eclipse).

ive been in this fandom for so long i forgot ruin eclipse was a thing (i need to replay the game). so i tried to merge visuals and cannon actions together. and trying to bring the bright design of glitch!eclipse into the dark dreary world of frankenstein was hell.

Calypso (he/they/it)

Unlike the original Frankenstein Story, these monsters were not brought to life by electricity. Rather, through remnant (yes the most cursed part of FNAF lore). Calypso is an amalgamation of all the parts the creator ‘tested’ on before moving onto his official creation, Lunar. Fueled by the ‘parts’ remnant and the spite of being discarded, Calypso stitched himself together—hell bent on proving that he is more than some weak mans attempt at playing god. Made of primarily flesh stitched over a metal body, he isn’t nearly as organic as Lunar or Solis. He even regards himself as ‘soulless’—whatever that means. He imbodies the original ending of Frankenstein. Calypso continues to haunt and chase his creator until the end of his life. Now gone, he roams this world taking out those with cruel intentions.

Taking up the mantel of ‘The Hunter’, Calypso walks the darker side of the world. Taking care of the dirty humans that no longer serve this world’s purpose. If I could describe him as any quote, it would be “I have love in me the likes of which you can scarcely imagine and rage the likes of which you would not believe. If I cannot satisfy the one, I will indulge the other.” Calypso stands as a counterpart to Solis and Lunar, and what they could have ended up as without their companionship. He firmly believes that monsters like him should not exist, but he cannot end his suffering as a man fueled by something beyond science. While also believing that he is intrinsically better than humanity, a man created through sheer will alone. What a contradictory monster.

Physically, Calypso is tall. Around 9ft (compared to Solis and Lunars 8ft). The darker parts of his skin are leathery, previous experimented on via fire—something he deeply fears. One ingrained through rampant memories imbued in his flesh.

Calypso enters this tale after hearing that, although unlikely, another one of him may exist on the far edges of a small village. He would be amiss to ignore these rumors, it would be a mercy to end those who suffer the same immortal curse as him. However, The Apothecary has suffered enough in life, and will not back down easily. They will not allow someone to extinguish, what they believe, are the beautiful creations that are Solis and Lunar. Entertained by the notion that a human would protect such tragic creatures, he indulges in the cruel intention of playing your game.

But maybe, just maybe, you can change his mind and prove that deep down, Calypso does have a soul.

Here’s some fun facts!

Calypso’s favorite color is purple!

He’s a slut for a high collar, and has a pension for fashion (that unfortunately, doesn’t really fit his stature).

He likes to call you ‘little lamb’. As he firmly believes that by interacting with these monsters is you willing sacrificing yourself, like a lamb to slaughter.

He’s a crafty guy. Living in the dark corners of the 18th century means that he learned how to fix just about anything.

He doesn’t outright hate humanity, just the crueler parts. Actually, he holds the firm belief that the innocents of this world deserve to be protected. The part that balances out the sins his creator released.

Calypso likes to indulge in self care. Both to maintain his false sense of confidence and to make sure his body can hold its own.

During the day he disguises his face, but at night he uses it as a bargaining chip. The only freedom he has is granted by that fact that no one dares to defy the hunter that gets rid of worse monsters.

solis tends to run warm due to all his work outside. but he does love some physical affection! contact is the closest way to examine a person, and humans are very soft and squishy. however, since he was made second and with ‘leftover’ parts, he has issues regulating his temperature. the winter months are the hardest for her.

lunar runs cold. both of them have their organs and blood pumping through their abdomen, so thats where its the warmest. but if he does let you touch him, your better off being quiet. theyre like an angry cat.

but yeah, their limbs and face are made primarily of metal (their hands are made only of metal) with a thin layer of human skin. their abdomen is where most of the ‘human’ parts are.

Hi I just wanted to tell you I am *obsessed* with your Frankenstein monster DCA au. Once I finish my commissions I'd like to make some art for it (I'm not doing art fight this year this would be just normal fanart), I've even got my friend hooked on the concept and we've done an rp of your au, heck I'm even rereading my copy of the og Frankenstein again

Is there any more information about the au you can share? And would it be okay if I told you some headcanons I have?

Frankenstein’s Other Choice

In the original 1818 story Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, the monster hunts down and threatens Victor Frankenstein with a choice. Victor can either make his monster a companion, or he will dedicate the rest of his existence to chasing Victor across the world and ruining all he loves. Ultimately, Victor starts, then stops, the birth of a new companion. Forcing his monster to roam the world as an immortal singularity. Thus, leading to the stories original tale.

My AU takes place in a world where Victor does provide his monster a companion, Solis! Lunar’s story follows the basic plot of the original classic, such as his first kill and the rise and fall for his love of humanity at the hands of the DeLacy family. The AU explores their growth and complexities of navigating a world that hates their existence, and the intrinsic human need to be acknowledged. This is why Solis seems more ‘naive’ about humans faults, they didnt experience the same pains as Lunar. But like the original Monster, he wants to be part of a world he cants have. Its also why Solis doesnt favor the arts and more advanced crafts like Lunar, she was made as a blackmailed afterthought, left over parts. Nonetheless, she still holds alot of love for the world (and a borderline scientific obsession for humans).

Of course, there is a lot I want to explore in this AU! Frankenstein is very dear to me as a creative arts person who decided to pursue STEM (dont do it unless you want your brain to be rewritten for scientific analysis). Im actually getting a tattoo dedicated to the story. Rambling on, heres two videos that inspired me and are really good if you want to explore Frankensteins more nuianced side.
