[8:22pm] Moonbin was quite flustered when you asked if he could pretend to be your boyfriend for a wedding you were attending, but after going back and forth with himself for nearly a week, he ultimately decided that as your best friend, it was only right to help you out with the favor you asked of him. Not to mention he’d been trying to work up the nerve to confess to you for quite a while now, and despite his initial hesitation, he knew an opportunity when he saw one.
“Thank you so much for doing this,” you whispered, leaving the reception hand-in-hand as you walked back to his car together.
“It’s no problem,” he said with a smile, his heart starting to thump in his chest with every step that took you further and further away from the party. “I had a lot of fun.”
“So did I,” you smiled back before sneaking a peek behind you. “Okay, I think we’re far away enough now, you can let go of my hand if you want.”
You kept walking together.
“You’re still holding my hand.”
“You said I can let go if I want to,” he said, his voice suddenly softening. “Is it okay if…I don’t want to?”
“I kind of like this,” he said, raising your intertwined hands. “For real. I like you, for real. Is that okay?”
You blinked at him for a long moment, looking into his face as you tried to process his words and decide whether he really said what you thought he said, but the small, hopeful smile that had appeared on his face was undeniable. Without realizing it, that same smile soon appeared on your own face as the answer to his question came to you more naturally than you would have imagined.
“Yeah,” you replied, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. “That’s okay.”
