“The full moon's tomorrow days ago.”
I'M FINALLY TURNING 14!!
And this is one of the first times I've drawn a character with curly hair, so it might be a little weird, but I tried to draw myself.
Happy Birthday
Yuno Kashiki (2nd September)

"Come on, you need to live a little!"
"I am living, but right now is a bad time. I need to focus on work."
"If you keep waiting for life to start, you'll end up never living at all."
"That's so cheesy."
"But is it wrong?"

HBD 🎂 Damson!!! 😁 🙌🏾
Jamie and Charles were dancing near the stage, laughing, grabbing at each other, jumping and twirling. Jamie fell into a fit of laughter when Charles almost tripped with an empty cup, catching him before he ended up on the floor. Charles laughed, too, and they kept dancing. The singer of the band shouted for them to open a pit, and in no time, the whole room was jumping, running, and colliding with each other.
Charles couldn’t believe he was there. It had been a stroke of luck that he had caught his father so stable that morning. Steeling himself, he risked it and asked for permission to go out that night. His father had given it to him, with the condition that he would be home before midnight. For a few seconds, he had been processing it, not fully believing it had been that easy. Charles could have slipped out, knowing he would be at work, but he didn’t want to risk it. Considering his mood lately, the only thing he needed was to give him any more excuses to explode.
The T/A was one of their favourite places to go. They usually threw ska sessions on Saturdays and brought amateur bands that were enjoyable enough. And they could afford the admission, most days. Aside from that, the place didn’t have anything special to it. It was only a rather tiny room with a stage and a bar with two people serving drinks. The bathroom was a critical place, for more than one reason. Charles tried to avoid it as much as possible.
When True Attack’s last song came to an end and the band said goodbye, Jamie groaned, but a pleased smile still remained on his lips.
“Shame,” Jamie moaned. “I thought they would play another one.”
“I’m sure the next band will be good, too.”
“Yeah. I need to pee, though.”
Charles and Jamie made their way towards the bathrooms. Surprisingly, there wasn’t a huge queue right outside, and no suspicious sounds were coming from the closed stalls. Charles chose to stay at the hall while Jamie did his thing.
Charles sighed, closing his eyes and backing against the wall. A sensation of wrongness invaded him. For a second, with the music booming in the main room and the smell of alcohol, sweat, and sharper things clinging to his senses like hooks pulling him deep into their whirl, he felt— Lonely. Charles knew it was not the usual loneliness that sometimes overwhelmed him, unprompted and intense. That feeling ran deeper, curling around an empty spot in his chest that Charles knew somehow shouldn’t be there. Something was lacking, and Charles couldn’t quite put his finger on it.
Maybe it was the beer, already running through his system, playing tricks on his mind.
The door of the bathroom opened, and Jamie emerged, giving him a smile.
“Come on,” he said, tilting his head towards the exit. “Let’s get another drink, yeah?”
“Brills,” Charles muttered, plastering a cheerful smirk on his face.
Once out of the hall, they had to push their way towards the bar. There, Jamie brought them two pints and lit up a cigarette. He took a long puff before offering it to Charles.
“No, thanks,” Charles said, picking up his pint.
He was risking it already. It would take a miracle if he managed to avoid his father noticing any hint of alcohol or smoke sticking to his clothes. He knew he would need to avoid him in the morning until he could take a shower, and his clothes would definitely be pushed under his bed as soon as he arrived.
Jamie kept his eyes fixed on him for a second, taking the cigarette to his lips again. Charles looked away, towards the stage, where another band was getting ready to play. He took a large gulp, turning towards Jamie again.
“I’m glad you could make it tonight,” Jamie said casually. “It’s much more fun if it's the both of us. I came here alone a couple of times in July, and it was not the same.”
“What about Cat? Maybe she could’ve come with you.”
“Cat? Here? Not in a million years,” Jamie laughed, eyes fixed on the bottles behind the bar. “Besides, she was at her family's village in Spain. Left as soon as she could. She loves it there.”
“Right.”
Cat was Jamie’s best friend. He told Charles that they had known each other for ages. Charles could see it in his eyes when he talked about her. How they lit up with fondness. It was more than evident that he adored her. For some reason, that night, seeing that look in Jamie’s eyes made him feel like crying, bringing back that stab of loneliness. Charles wondered how amazing it must be to have someone so close to your soul, who you could trust so completely, who knew you. That sounded rather wonderful.
“Oh, shit!” Jamie blurted out with a giggle, eyes widening, fixing on some point over his shoulder. “Look who’s here.”
Charles turned around, curiosity piqued instantly, and knew right away who Jamie was referring to. Among the crowd, with her eyes already fixed on them, a girl with long curly hair and a dark overall was chatting with a guy with his head completely shaved. Charles’ heart jumped in his chest, adrenaline filling his veins.
Layla excused herself and started making her way to them. Jamie let out another giggle, clearly amused.
“She’s coming,” he sing-songed.
“Shut up,” Charles said, poking his ribs in warning, feeling his cheeks heat up.
“Why, hello. I was not expecting to find you two here tonight.”
Charles and Jamie turned at once, facing Layla. She dedicated them a warm, sly smile. However, her eyes fixed on Charles almost instantly. A shiver ran down his spine at the way her deep brown eyes scanned him, and how her smile turned richer, pleased.
“Hi, Layla,” Charles managed to say. “I thought you’d be in Dublin by now.”
“Change of plans,” she shrugged. “One of our housemates baled out at the last moment, so we’ve decided to stay here in London for a bit. See if we can find another decent place there, in the meantime. Thank God my boss has taken me in again. I would've been screwed if he hadn’t. It’s a bit of a bore to be back to selling clothes, but whatever.”
“I’m sorry to hear that,” Charles said. “I’m sure you’ll find something.”
“Hopefully. So, how are you?” She smirked, her eyes flickering to Jamie for an instant. “Last party before getting back to that prison of a school?”
“Yeah,” Jamie answered, putting out the last of his cigarette on the floor, putting it out with the tip of his shoe.
“At least you’ll be doing something with your lives, not like us, dropouts,” Layla giggled, placing a hand on Charles’ shoulder, returning her focus on him. “But it’s always nice seeing you. I’m here with a few friends right now, but call me. Maybe we can meet someday soon.”
She caressed down his arm, her fingers finding skin, making Charles shiver.
He gulped, fighting the tightness of his throat. “Okay. Yeah. That’d be aces, yeah.”
“Perfect,” her smile grew, her eyes intense under the tenue light. “I’ll be waiting.”
After that, she disappeared. Charles remained speechless, watching her leave and disappear into the crowd. Jamie started laughing.
“Bloody hell,” Jamie said after he managed to stop. “She’s down bad.”
“Nah. She’s always like that,” Charles shook his head, trying to vanish the sudden heat clinging to his skin. “Wasn’t anything serious, you know that.”
“Yeah. Tell that to her car’s suspension.”
Charles spluttered, knowing for certain he had indeed turned red at that. Which only made Jamie laugh even more. Every possible word to counteract that vanished from his brain, and he resigned himself to shutting up and taking a large gulp of his pint, attempting to drown his embarrassment.
