Morning came, and Mick hadn't slept. He didn't think he could: it wasn't often he had a full, fresh meal, and he was still coursing with a manic energy despite being poisoned the night before.
He didn't know how long Beth would sleep after being drained, but once he'd run out of leads with online work (there was only so far that googling "liquid silver" could get him), he started thinking about what she had said-- that it would be nice to say good morning instead of goodnight.
So over the course of the night, he searched online until he found a bed that thought Beth would like, ordered it to be delivered (some assembly required, but he was very good at that sort of thing) and ordered some new sheets for and pillows for it. When that was done, he ran to the store on the corner as quickly as he could manage and picked up some things to make breakfast for Beth.
He wanted it to be ready but not cold when she woke up, so, sheepishly, quietly, he watched her sleep and started cooking when it seemed like she was getting more restless. He thought he still remembered how to work everything from when he was briefly human. He'd gotten decent at making French toast and bacon, and tried to cook quietly so he wouldn't wake her early. Vampires are pretty stealthy, but maybe not quite that stealthy. He winced whenever he clanged around too much.

Considering what he truly is there isn’t need for a coat, naturally he’s not cold but you learn fairly quickly to blend in with humans you need to ‘act’ as one and he’s had nearly 500 years to master that. And of course he’s keenly aware of the fashion. Slipping his hands into his pockets he walks down the steps with a suaveness to his step. “Cold Night.” He said simply.

It’s obvious in his posture alone that he’s irritated as he turns the mixture of scotch and blood in his hand, his gaze turning to them as they’d come into the room, eyes darker than usual. “I am not in the mood” His tone is dark, the simple words encompassing a warning.
He wasn’t a young man, not by any degree of the word, he was nearing 500 and much of that spent as a vampire and yet even to this day when there was too much blood in the air it affected him. His jaw tightened, his hand balling into a fist, nails digging into his palm as he looked at them, bleeding from a wound. ‘That’s... that’s a lot of blood.”
“Look, as much as I respect the balls it takes to walk into my office without permission trust me I have a very thin line when it comes to patience.” His voice is a mixture of sarcasm and annoyance all in one as he sits back in his chair, his head moving from the screen to his intruder.
