The aftermath of emotions from the JJK men after the Shibuya Incident
(Some parts mention cannon events slightly, others aren't cannon at all.)
“Ken?” Your voice echoed through the halls of your quiet apartment “Ken? Where are you?” Your voice began to get more panicked. You’d just gotten home from a mission, the first one since the Shibuya incident. Also, the first one since Kento was released from hospital. Your voice finally reached to the bathroom
“Go away.” He grumbled behind the closed bathroom door.
“Ken? What’s wrong?” You asked, feeling internally more panicked than you were letting on. You knew how broken he was since everything. Even from the first moment you saw him lying in the hospital bed coated in bandages, his breathing weaker than it ever had been before. It ripped you apart seeing the once strong man so weak, you’d tried to comfort him the best you could while also mourning the man you used to love before this tragic incident. Now here you were outside of the bathroom door listening to the man you’ve loved for so long crying to himself
“You are going to leave me. I’m worthless.” He whimpered.
Doing your best to not break into tears you mangled to get out “No Ken. In sickness and in health… that’s what we said at our wedding. I meant every word of that.”
“I’m a monster, I don’t even look like myself. I can’t even shower without pain. You have to do so much. I’m a burden.” His words truly stung. Managing to finally pick the lock on the bathroom you burst in, seeing Kento curled into a ball sobbing on the floor. Rushing over immediately you pulled him into your arms “I’m here honey. I’ll always be here, okay?” Tears fell out of your eyes “You can talk to me.”
“I’m ugly, I don’t even look like myself. How can you love someone like me?” His voice trembled
“Because you are mine, my husband, my everything. Looks aren’t everything. You are still you inside. That’s all that’s ever mattered to me.” Trying to keep yourself from sobbing you finally got out “I’ll never leave, no matter what. Honestly, I’m just thankful you are here with me… that’s all I need. I don’t want to visit your grave, Ken. I want to live with you, as long as you’ll live with me of course.”
A slight smile formed on his face, you continued “burn marks and scars don’t bother me. Life without you would. I love you Ken, please don’t ever doubt that.” You gently hugged him attempting not to disturb his injuries
“I love you too (Y/N).” Was all he could say between sobs, you both stayed like that for hours.
“Go away.” Yuji grumbled under his covers.
“Not until we actually talk.” You firmly stated above him. Ever since everything happened Yuji had been distant, not even able to hardly eat anything, or even get out of bed for that matter. Megumi had told you everything that happened during the event, Sukuna coming out, the innocent people dying, everything.
“Yuji… please.” You begged softly, kneeling down by his bed.
“I said go away!” Yuji sat up his voice harsh, unlike anything you’d ever heard before. Tears bubbled up quickly as you turned leaving the room quickly. Yuji realized he’d fucked up but was really to disconnected from reality to care. He rolled over in his bed staring at the wall, the images of destruction flashed in his mind “Why?” He muttered sobbing into his hands, the same hands that caused all the destruction in Shibuya. Hours later you didn’t knock on the door with dinner like you normally did, the next day you didn’t text him, nobody came to check in. He didn’t realize how much he shrugged off all the little things you did until it was gone, and now he felt even more guilty. It had been weeks since he even left his dorm, since he showered, since he acted like he cared about anything other than what he did that night. Yuji was hurt, destroyed even, but that didn’t mean he needed to take his anger out on you. You weren’t the one to blame, just the one closest to him, he had no family other than Choso he guessed who claimed to be his family (and that whole situation was weird). His hand hovered over your contact information on his phone, taking a deep breath, he finally hit call.
“Yuji?” You picked up after the first ring almost like you were waiting.
“(Y/N), I’m so sorry. I’m so fucking sorry.” He cried into the phone. “I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, please forgive me… I’m sorry.”
Hearing his words over the phone struck a chord in your heart and the tears began flowing “Yu… it’s alright. I forgive you. Do you want me to come over?” You asked softly
“Please?” He continued sobbing.
“Be there soon.” You hung the phone up quickly running over to his dorm. Once you arrived, he was waiting by the door when you opened it. His arms wrapped around you, and his sobbing became worse, but you knew he needed this.
“I’m here… I’ll always be here.” You reassured.
“Gumi, stop pretending you are fine.” You looked up at him.
“Gotta deal with this myself.” He grumbled, focusing on training.
“Running yourself into the ground isn’t going to help. Please rest, you haven’t rested since you’ve been released from the hospital.” Walking over you attempted to soothe him by placing a hand on his shoulder; something that before Shibuya would’ve calmed him down. Now he’s been so jumpy his rabbits flew at you knocking you on your back. Sitting up groaning in pain he realizes how bad things really got for him. You slightly flinched when he approached
“I’m just going to go.” You brushed the dirt off your pants “you seem like you ought to be alone right now.” Was that the greatest idea probably not, but getting the wind knocked out of you wasn’t on your bucket list. Walking away from him he watched until your figure faded away into the night. Breaking down immediately after you left tears falling onto the ground. “Fuck!” He screamed loudly, so loudly it garnered the attention of Maki who was out walking because she couldn’t sleep.
“What a mess.” She coldly stated looking down at Megumi. Her injuries were turning into scars at this point, but her distain for the world was still intact. “Alright, what did you do?” Maki in a rare occurrence was showing some sort of compassion. Megumi remained quiet, wiping the stagnant tears off his face. Maki stood pondering.
“I saw her running off towards the dorms. What happened?” She asked a little more sternly this time.
“I accidentally pushed her down with my rabbits.” He stared bluntly.
“Go apologize dipshit.” She spat
“She probably hates me now.” Megumi nervously looked down
“She doesn’t.” Maki said with unwavering confidence “I talked to her too” she admitted garnering an eyebrow lift from the normally stoic man. Megumi ran off towards the dorms in an instant coming up to your door. He could hear your muffled sobs from the hallway; he decided not to knock rushing to your side as soon as he opened your door.
“Fuck. I messed up. I’m sorry.” He stood over the bed, he could tell you didn’t realize he was here until that moment.
“Gumi. I understand.” You sniffled. He sat down on the bed next to you
“No, I shouldn't have acted out like that. I should talk to you.” He couldn’t make eye contact with you “you are everything to me, I can’t lose you.” His voice was stoic as usual, but a bit of softness was embedded within “during Shibuya all I could think about was getting back to you, then when you are trying to help… I hurt you…” his lower lip was quivering.
“Megumi… don’t do that to yourself. I’m here, okay? We don’t have to talk if you don’t want to… just be a little easier on yourself.” You pulled him onto your chest then basically into the bed “we don’t have to talk… let’s just exist for a while…”
“Okay.” He responded quietly melting into the comfort you were offering him, minutes later soft snores from him erupted into the room. You could always talk later, now you knew he needed to rest.
Choso had shut himself off from the world completely since the Shibuya incident. You had been doing the best you could to make sure he was taking care of yourself, but it was getting near impossible.
“(Y/N)?” Choso was standing in the kitchen while you prepared lunch.
“Yes Cho?” You asked, trying not to act surprised to see him out of bed.
“I almost killed my brother.” He sniffed walking over to you. “I’m a horrible person.” He mumbled.
“Cho. You aren’t a horrible person. You were manipulated into believing Yuji was a horrible person. You were just doing what you thought was right.” You firmly stated trying to reassure him. He nods, taking what you said to heart. “Besides Cho. If you were a horrible person I don’t think I would love, you as much as I do.” You softly smiled. Choso again nodded, wiping the tears off his face.
“Can we take a bath together?” Choso shyly asked, not knowing if you even still felt much affection towards him “I miss being close to you.” He whispered, you nodded.
“How about after lunch? We can snuggle in there as long as you’d like. Talk or just be quiet.” You leaned your head on his shoulder.
“Sounds good.” A little smile appeared on his face; you placed a small kiss on his cheek before handing him a plate with lunch “you take such good care of me.”
“Anything to see you smile Cho.” You looked up at him with love in your eyes “no matter what I’ll always be here, okay?” You assured.
“Okay.” He placed a small kiss on your head before going to sit down for his first meal at the table with you in months.
