Saving you from a Toxic Relationship
Fields Of Mistria - Eiland x Reader, March x Reader, Balor x Reader
The FOM Bachelors helping you escape a toxic relationship.
“Eiland, there truly nothing else we can do.” Adeline sighed.
“There has to be something… I’m not sure what to do or say any more.” Eiland pleaded with his older sister, tears bubbling up in his eyes.
“She’s a grown woman who has to make her own decisions.” She firmly stated, "Eiland couldn’t fathom the idea of you being treated so cruelly by another man “Eiland. Don’t do anything rash.” She pressed her younger brother further.
“Not planning on it sis.” He grumbled, arms crossed.
Eiland left the estate walking down to the Saturday market, seeing the happy faces of the townsfolk made him feel a bit more at ease. That was until he saw you glued to a bench with that man or if that’s what he could even call him. His arm wrapped around you as if he was trying to claim his stake, Eiland glared over at him knowing exactly what he was doing. Before he approached his face switched to a happy smile “Hey (Y/N), Adeline and I were discussing a few things this morning. I was wondering if you’d be able to talk for a minute?” Immediately you glanced over at the man sitting next to you for some sort of approval he nods
“Yeah, go. I’ll be waiting for you here when you are done. Don’t go too far.” His hand gripped your wrist tightly glaring at Eiland “see you when you get back” you nod as he released his grip walking over to Eiland “What’s going on?” You asked, confused. “Another public works project?”
Eiland shook his head “I promised I wouldn’t get involved, but I have to ask.” He took a deep breath “Are you alright?” His tone was soft and unjudgmental, just wanting an honest response.
“Yeah. Why wouldn’t it be?” He caught the hint of nervousness in your voice constantly glancing over at the man on the bench.
“Ever since he’s been here you’ve been to the doctor quite a bit.” He sighs. You became defensive
“I’ve been going to the mines quite a bit, I had a few accidents.” Your hands were fidgeting more as he continued to pry.
“(Y/N) you don’t smile anymore.” Eiland admits, voice trembling “I miss your smile.”
You looked up at him “I’m not sure what you mean Eiland, I’m quite alright. If that’s all I need to get back,” you began walking towards the bench. Eiland wanted nothing more than to grab you to stop you, but he knew it would cause more trouble than anything. He watched as you sat down next to the man trying to come up with an excuse to what you both were talking about.
At this point months had passed, Eiland was doing his best to keep himself contained. Every event you’d show up looking more worn down than the last, slight bruises poking out from underneath your sweater. Eiland never pressed too hard for information worried that you’d pull away from any sort of close friendship you may have with him. Today looked astoundingly worse than before, he could see the patchy foundation over your noticeably black eye, it was like the man knew he could get away with it but didn’t care. He wasn’t escorting you today to the festivities, assuming he was highly hungover.
“Eiland.” You tried your best to give him a smile.
“(Y/N), how are you?” He asked, trying not to give the impression of being too worried. You ushered him to follow you towards a quiet corner of the festival, he followed willingly.
“I… um… I.” You began fairly nervous. He could see how your body was trembling in fear, attempting to soothe those worries he tried to keep his composure “I need help Eiland.” You finally got the words out followed by a plethora of tears falling out of your eyes. He didn’t take a step closer, face slightly turning into a frown “Anything. What do you need help with?”
“I know you’ve noticed…” slightly pulling up your sleeves you revealed the burns, cuts, and fading bruises all over your arms “I’m scared”
He wasn’t sure what to say at that point, but he knew right then he wasn’t going to stop until you were away from that man.
“I’ll help you. I’ll do anything to keep you safe.” His voice hardened with resolve “you can come stay at the manor until the situation is settled, please.”
You nodded slowly, “Please don’t tell anyone… it’s something I’ve been too scared to talk about for a while.”
Eiland softly wiped the tears that were falling “I wouldn’t dream of it in the world, we should leave. I don’t want anyone gossiping about this.”
Following him out of the event towards the manor you felt a sense of peace that wasn’t there when you arrived. Knowing that Eiland was going to do everything possible to keep you safe made stepping up worth it.
“Don’t worry (Y/N) I’ll protect you. Always.” A soft smile appeared on his face, something that calmed the fear brewing inside of you. “Thank you.”
March wasn’t dumb to notice every time you entered the shop, the tears that you recently just wiped from your eyes still clinging to your face. The frown that overtook your entire face replacing what used to be a smile.
“Hey March. Got an extra pickaxe lying around?” You asked.
“Sure.” March dug around in the back until he found the iron one, he just made to replenish the stock “this is the third pickaxe you’ve bought in the last month, must be busy in the mines?” He wiped the remnants of metal off the top before handing it to you.
“Yeah. The mines.” You nodded, pulling the right amount of money to pay for it. March could tell that wasn’t the reason, but who was he to really pry into your personal life. Olric shared his own concerns, and March had been paying an awful lot of attention to you since you had arrived in town.
“If you need any other tools feel free to stop by.” March stated before you quickly left the shop.
As he was closing up for the night he could hear the sounds of your sobs from a distance. Then the sound of something breaking
“I told you. Your place is at home not the fucking mines!”
“Please stop.” You begged as the man threw the pieces at you. March couldn’t ignore this; he’d been ignoring things for far too long.
“Hey!” He ran over in the middle of the two of you “I knew she wasn’t just breaking them in the mines…” he grumbled the man took a step over towards March “Red head, what is your problem trying to come between a little rift between me and my girl!?” Now that statement made the usually calm, and stoic man feel a little rise of anger within. He glanced down at your trembling form on the ground, spots of red blood dripping from your face. March was done, he was done seeing how much he broke you even over the last two months. March wanted to see you smile again, even if he’d never tell you that.
“Leave her alone.” March said almost too calmly. The man walked over pulling your wrist making you stand up even though you were holding back crying out in pain.
“See? She’s absolutely fine. Aren’t you princess?” The man smirked looking down at you
“I’m fine.” You repeated almost like it was rehearsed. March didn’t believe it for a second. In one swift movement March came in between the two of you helping you back down on the ground.
“Go.” March stared firmly.
“What the fuck!? Me go? You are the one who got in the middle of this.” The man was furious.
“Go now.” March wasn’t wavering for a single second. The man approached him angrily, not wanting to cause any more of a scene.
“Fine. See you back at the house.” He grumbled walking away.
“You aren’t going back.” March stated before he lifted you up. “You are coming back with me; we are going to get you some help.”
You adamantly shook your head not wanting to cause ripples.
“You have no say. He’s harmed you for long enough” March stated trying to be a little kinder with his words. Your eyes were leaking tears.
“Why are you helping me?” You asked.
“Because I can’t stand to see someone like you being treated so poorly by someone so insignificant. You deserve better.” He looked ahead, his demeanor still the same grumpy blacksmith. Finally making it back to the shop he sat you down on his couch “I’m going to touch you so I can see how bad the wounds are. Then we can take care of them.” He quickly rushed off to grab the first aid kit before inspecting the wounds present on your face. His touch was featherlight and gentle allowing him to get close to inspect them before placing bandages on them. He gave you a slight nod once he finished “Thanks for being so patient with me. Would you like a cup of tea?” He was truly trying to think of anything that might mitigate the pain you surely must’ve been feeling.
“Tea sounds nice, thank you march.” The tears gathered at the front of your eyes “Thank you for everything.”
“Of course (Y/N). Don’t mention it.” March was placing a pot of water on the stove “Let’s try to relax, then we can decide what comes next?”
You wiped the falling tears “Sounds good.”
As you entered the inn Balor noticed you.
“Hey… are you doing alright?” Balor asked gently, his eyes taking over the hues of black and blue adorning your face.
“Yeah. I’m fine.” You quickly muttered out not making eye contact “just an incident in the mines.”
Balor could tell you were lying to him; it was that awful boyfriend of yours. Whenever he visited from the city, you’d tend to have an awful lot of ‘incidents in the mines'. Balor hated that guy for treating someone like you with such cruelty.
“You know you can talk to me.” Balor admits cursing himself instantly in his mind.
Balor had noticed your generally happy smile had faded, the color in your cheeks gone. He hated the man who was making you go through so much pain. The absolute breaking point for him were the faint injuries lacing up your neck, almost unnoticeable.
“Stay with me tonight.” Balor insisted.
You looked up, voice slightly trembling “Balor. I have to go home.”
“No, you don’t. You aren’t going home till that bastard who hurt you is gone. I’ll make sure of that.” Balor was tired of seeing you in such a sad state. He just wanted to see you thriving again.
“I’m not getting you involved in-“ you were cut off.
“I want to be involved; I see what that man is doing to you. Those injuries on your neck aren’t from the mines. I won’t let you push me away.” Balor was trying not to cause a scene with all the people around; the town was quite gossipy. You could feel the emotions and gravity of the situation come crashing down, tears began spilling out of your eyes. Balor felt awful making you cry like this, his voice was softer “I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to make you cry.”
Wiping the tears as they fell “I need help”
Balor nodded, “I’ll help you. I promise.”
After the heavy conversation he took you up to the room he was staying in.
“Thanks.” You muttered walking over to the couch opposite of the bed.
“What do you think you are doing?” Balor sounded a little unsettled causing you to think that he was getting mad. He saw how your body trembled, changing his tone of voice to something softer “I’m sorry. I was just going to say that I’d rather you sleep in the bed tonight. I’ll take the sofa.” He took a step back, giving you more space.
“It’s alright. The couch is fine.” You tried to reassure him. He shook his head; you finally relented walking over to the bed and climbing in as he turned the light off.
“Balor?” You asked into the darkness.
“Yes (Y/N)?” He responded
“Thanks for helping me.” Your voice was shaky.
“Of course. I’d do anything for you.” Balor smiled to himself in the darkness. He didn’t expect you to respond. Laying on the sofa he could hear your attempts to get comfortable, hearing the whispered ‘ow’ every now and then as you bumped a bruise; the room went silent, Balor could only assume you finally fell asleep.
A loud knock on the door woke Balor up immediately from his light sleep. It startled you causing the blanket to go over your head out of habit. Both of you heard the loud voice of your boyfriend, you were trembling. Balor knew the time was now, so he confidently opened the door facing the man who has been harming you.
“Where’s (Y/N)?” The man loudly asked, trying to catch a glimpse into the room.
“None of your business.” Balor gritted his teeth wanting nothing more than to deck the guy for even laying a finger on you.
“I’m her boyfriend. I think it is my business.” The man leaned closer to Balor, he could smell the alcohol on his breath.
“Soon to be Ex” Balor was getting a little cocky, all of a sudden, the guy pulled the collar of Balor’s shirt pulling him up.
“You are gonna regret saying that pretty boy.” The man’s fist was cocked back about to land a strong blow on Balor. That was before multiple people tackled him. The commotion caused you to finally get up walking over to the door, seeing your boyfriend laying on the ground a few of the townspeople tackling him while he yelled profanities. Balor saw the scared look in your eye as you approached
“What do you want us to do?” He asked nervously, hoping you’d make the right choice at this moment. You were absolutely stunned seeing the man who’d treated you so poorly look so weak in that moment
“Cmon babe. Tell them that they are overreacting. Let’s go back to your place.” He turned his sweet voice on, the one that made you forgive him time and time again. Slowly shaking your head, you finally found the courage “No. I’m breaking up with you.” Even with that profound statement the tears immediately fell out of your eyes, Balor took notice standing as close as he could next to you without touching. Balor could see the fear etched into your face as the townsfolk called the city police taking the screaming man away “You’ll pay for this! Nobody will love you like I did! You deserved everything you got from me!” Your now ex-boyfriend screamed at you as they drug him out of the inn. You were an absolute mess at this point, shaking from the sheer intensity of the situation.
“Are you alright?” Balor asked. You shook your head.
“What am I going to do when he gets out?” You began trembling in fear, Balor sighed not really knowing how to answer that without upsetting you.
“Balor. I really don’t know what to do.” You bawled.
He finally gathered the words he needed to say, “Let me protect you.”
You shook your head quickly, voice, small and frail. “You travel; I’m not going to hold you back.”
Balor looked surprised, “Not holding me back, besides I’ve been looking for a reason to stay here. I think this one is pretty good.” A small smile appeared on his face. “Let's head back to the farm to change the locks, I’m going to ensure your safety.” He held his hand out wondering if you’d accept his gesture of good will. You felt relief at his words calming down “Thanks Balor.” You mumbled grabbing his hand still shaking. He leads you to the farmhouse assisting you in getting rid of every piece of that awful man and taking extra security measures. He wanted to make sure you felt safe.
“Thank you again Balor. It means the world you’d help me.” Feeling tears bubbling up again. Balor overstepped a few boundaries; he’d been doing his best not to try and comfort you physically knowing how much your ex had hurt you. He wasn’t sure if you would even be okay with the contact, but at this point he was more concerned about your wellbeing. Wrapping you gently in his arms allowing you to sob into his chest. “Anything for you (Y/N). I’ll always be here for you.” he whispered in your ear as your sobs rang out.
