Lupin and Jigen had gotten just a little too used to his presence at times- it meant he could get away with things anyone else might have been wise to. Which was how the two of them mysteriously found their guns missing when a very thick door to a very small room closed and locked behind them. And a note slipped into their pockets. "Try cooling off in here for a while," signed off with a familiar looking insignia.
@moonlight-kaitou—
All it took was a simple note.
“Come to room 206 at 9:30 PM. -L”
After that, all bets were off. Jigen figured if the guy wanted his beatdown early, who was he to deny him? Heels clicked against the hall’s floor as he approached the room. The door was already propped open, awaiting his entrance. For a split second, he hesitated, then proceeded inside.
It was a very small room. Two chairs, a table, almost like an interrogation room at the local precinct. Definitely not what he was expecting. Come to think of it, it was pretty station-like in the halls, too. He flicked up his hat, however, when his eyes caught sight of one Lupin the 3rd.
Just as he was about to speak, the door slammed behind him, sending a gust of wind against his back. His hat nearly blew clear off his hat, and probably would have had he not instinctively reached up and pinned it down atop of his head.
Both the thief and the gunman looked stunned, immediately exchanging glances.

Căi Nà couldn't believe it! There was a heist in Shibuya that she could actually see in person! She couldn't remember the last time she had been close enough to attend one. Buses hadn't been her friend while she was alive, and she was mostly confined to a single ward of Tokyo since her death.
But she could make this one!
She took a smaller bag of essentials with instead of taking her whole yarn bag, and screamed her lungs out with the rest of the crowd when the thief arrived. Kaitou Kid. She still couldn't believe it!
There wasn't too much of a view at this heist, but Kid was a magician and he didn't disappoint. Even a glance was enough to fill her with excitement.
When it seemed close enough to over, Căi Nà slipped into the UG to get away from the crowd. Where had he gone? She wanted to give something to him. She would use every Reaper trick she could use if that's what it took to find him.

「 “ ... ” Well. One speech impediment ( though, an unusual one ) shouldn’t be a hindrance to face KID, so...
Here he is. 」

The only thing that brings her out of her shock is the forceful push that almost has her fall onto her backside. Aoko had seen everything in cinematic shots--
A gun pulled, white flashing in front of her, a shot made. And now a man she hardly new but clearly despised was on the floor, hissing, shouting at her to go.
... He took a bullet for her. What an asshole.
❝ ... Okay. ❞
The word is breathed, the panic in her heart present, but she remained still. She didn’t know how quickly that gunsman could reload, but it didn’t stop her from ruining KID’s plan of pushing her off to safety. No, she decided to pick him up instead, before doing as he said and just ‘going’. No words of protest were going to be heard, Aoko too busy with focusing on her breathing and planning a safe escape route out of the building.
And she ran, faster than she ever had before.

[Scratches all over their body (Masumi) / Stab wound to stomach (KID) //why this]
Everything hurt.
The air was thick with dust and hot ash that stung at his throat and eyes, debris littering the hallway. Here and there, small fires were still burning.
It doesn’t take long before the realization of what had happened hit him.
“T-Tantei..!”
There had been an explosion- an intense wave of heat rushing into the room before the floor had collapsed under their feet, sending the two of them into the black void below.
He’d leapt for them at the last second, and then they’d hit the ground in a heap of tangled limbs- and…
He’d landed on something. Something…sharp. The agony was almost indescribable- it took all his willpower in this moment to stay focused.
From somewhere distant, he could hear the creaking of tortured metal. There were a million things that sound could have been, and none that he considered were good.
“Tantei!”
Please…please don’t be dead…
“...Ow...” Struggling to sit up, Masumi immediately noticed that 1: She was all scratched up from the...explosion? Yes, explosion. And 2: Kaitou KID was right there, and if she recalled right had jumped for her when the explosion occurred.
“I’m okay, but what about you?” It was too dark to really see much that wasn’t right in front of her or lit by the small fires, but KID seemed...hurt? “That was a nasty fall...”

Ginti barely looks up from his magazine. He does, though. “You. Ain’t. Scheduled. To be in here,” he says, matter of factly.

Raising tonight’s take into the moonlight, he gazed through it carefully. No, no core inside this one. But-
Was it his imagination, or had it just been glowing? …No, it had to just be the light. Jewels didn’t glow. Some were fluorescent, and thus refracted light in such a way they appeared brighter than most, but…
He’s broken out of his musings by a familiar face.
“T-Tantei-chan–!” Man, she was fast. He’d barely gotten enough time to examine this jewel in the moonlight before the detective’s hand closed around it, trying to tear it out of his gloved hand. Was there any need to be this violent? He was about to give it back, anyways!
He figures struggling is pointless, and she can just keep it- up until he feels a decidedly bizarre sensation, shooting through him like an electric shock.
And the world falls away.
He’s eight years old, watching his father on stage.
“Isn’t my dad awesome?” He beams at Aoko, pride rising in his chest.
“What are you so proud about? It’s your dad, not you.”
“It’s gonna be me, one day. Dad is gonna teach me, and I’m gonna be the best magician ever!”
…
“Kaito?” His mother was crouching next to him. “I thought I might find you here. You should come home and have some dinner.”
“…I’m not hungry.” Hunger is gnawing at him, but he doesn’t care about it. Why should he, when everything else is wrong, when he’s alive and his dad isn’t?
…
He’s hearing his dad’s voice again…after 8 years… a recording?
Was this room dad’s last magic trick? If I put this outfit on…maybe I can find out the truth.
…
“What do you mean, Dad was murdered?! Who?! Who did it?!”
“Please…answer me honestly… was my dad a thief…? Was he Kaitou KID?”
“Yes…”
…
“Kaitou KID…or should I say…Kuroba Toichi?”
These guys…! These are the guys who killed Dad…!
…
“So you just hold it up to the moonlight, huh?”
“To hell with eternal life! I’ll find Pandora before you do, and I’ll smash it into a million pieces!”
…
“Kaito…”
“Ahhhh–!” He’s back in the present, on his knees, shaking and panting. It was like someone had just picked open his mind, bit by bit, pulling out memories, thoughts and feelings… Opening it like the pages of a book.
What was that…?! What did I just see?!
Tearing out into the open, Masumi wasted no time in making a grab for the stone, aiming to take it back by force. However, her focus was broken by an odd feeling rippling through her body, and she ended up thrown into...she wasn’t sure what, but it felt like a series of memories. Not her memories of course, but...
“I - I didn’t - what happened?!” Not knowing how to react to everything she’d just seen, Masumi ended up just staring in shock for a moment before edging slightly closer to KID Kaito in hopes of...what? Comforting him?
“...I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to...” She wasn’t even sure what she’d done, and yet she was apologizing.
