I DIDN’T EVEN GET THIS UNTIL AFTER I DID MY OWN HEADCANON and we both did Huaisang!!

YES like what if feminist could mean the men are good and kind and support their female counterparts whether they be family or friends or lovers??? what about that?????

Right?? Even when you want to have the man and woman Not Hook Up, that doesn’t mean the guy has to be Horrible? He could be her wingman, or just friends, or a million other options before “actually the guy’s a rapist and abuser.” Hell, they could get together and then realize that they’re not great together and break up! 

I think that’s why I liked the one post that I Can’t Find Right Now about the girl who writes poems for boys to give to their girlfriends, and then the one guy plays wingman to give the writer’s poem to her crush. Just people being nice to each other.

I’m certainly not disagreeing!  I just in the moment didn’t know if *I* could say that for certain, I was coming at it from the outside in and I don’t know my psych well enough.  There’s definitely something Off with Neil, and that’s a possible diagnosis that fits what we’ve seen.  It could very well be that he has this family around him because that’s what you do, right?  You assemble a family, and all the little cogs play their part.  How they feel about it is irrelevant.

Tailoring costs money and sewing seems scary but TIGHTS! Tights I can do!

Random headcanon made up on the spot--Huaisang has a pierced ear. He had it done right after he got out of Gusu after he graduated. He might have been slightly celebratory-drunk, but he doesn’t regret it.

neil definitely doesn’t care about billy or max, i read him as basically a textbook psychopath, he doesn’t seem to have any emotions other than rage (and i’m doing a rewatch too omg!!!!)

I can’t say as to textbook, but I do def get a feeling of control-freak from him.  But like- he plays games with it?  Gives you just enough leeway to hang yourself with, by not telling you the rules, like some sort of gotcha drill sergeant.  I can see some of that coming from possibly a military background, but turned on his son as a means of trying to replicate What’s Right In The World.  Structured life, structured family, everything’s happy and proper.  Only when that meets with reality, it quickly goes sideways, and he cannot Handle That.

He might well know what he’s doing is wrong, but he sees it as his Duty and the Only Way.  I’m Trying To Help You, Boy.
