5 things in my bag:

lipstick (I have between 4-7 in my purse at any given time)

semi-functional alarm clock

seven scented candles (all different scents because a girl needs variety)

pile of laundry that seriously needs to be washed

margarita glasses I use to put jewelry in

poorly assembled desk that my dad did a horrible job at putting together with long lost instruction

5 things I’m into right now:

Crazy-Ex Girlfriend (seriously this show is everything)

The Moana soundtrack

Flat whites (I need coffee to survive grad school)

Napping (grad school)

White Barn Eucalyptus and Mint-scented candle

5 things on my to-do list:

Apply for summer jobs/internships

Write paper due for Friday (despite it being a break), also get stuff ready for three group projects later in the semester

Do laundry

Make plans with friends for the week

1. If someone wanted to really understand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to?: I’m a really weird person but I’ll try. Read: ‘Brave New World’ by Aldous Huxley, ‘The Blind Assassin’ by Margaret Atwood, and ‘100 Years of Solitude’ by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Also read the bible. Watch: in terms of movies watch ‘The Mummy’, the new ‘Ghostbusters’, and ‘Across the Universe’. In terms of television shows watch the X-Files, Steven Universe, and Arthur (my favourite cartoon as a kid). Musically listen to Leonard Cohen (most of his stuff is good, 1992′s The Future is probably my favourite album of his), listen to Regina Spektor and Marina and the Diamonds, because I’m from Quebec listen to Les Cowboys Fringantes as well.

2. Have you ever found a writer who thinks just like you? if so, who? If I found someone who thought like me I probably wouldn’t write so much. Maybe there is one but I have yet to encounter their work.

15. Five most influential books over your lifetime. Probably the four mentioned above, but also probably also harry potter or the a song of ice and fire series.

18. What’s your patrons? Pottermore claims it to be an adder (I took the quiz) but lets be real, it’s an overwhelmed raccoon hiding behind a dumpster that might fight you but could probably use a hug right now. Or Peridot.

19. Which Harry Potter house would you be in? or are you a muggle? Ravenclaw.

30. Pick one of your favorite quotes. I recently heard this Nigerian proverb that I really agree with that said: “Not to know is bad. Not to want to know is worse. Not to hope is unthinkable. Not to care is unforgivable.” Tis my new favourite quote.

Owl, Sparrow, Hummingbird, Heron, and Egret

Owl: Honestly, there are a lot of things that fascinate me at any time, but i love space and love reading about the weird stuff that goes on in space. And then there are like unsolved mysteries like the Mary Celeste or the Toynbee Tiles. So I guess stuff like that.

Sparrow: Heck yeah I would go on an adventure! Provided it’s not like super traumatic. 

Hummingbird: I actually don’t usually remember my dreams. I know I have a lot were I resolve some problems that are an issue for me in real life and then I wake up and I’m just like :/ 

Heron: I think I would travel to like 2026 just so I can get an idea of where I should be heading now. Also maybe chat with my future self a little bit if that’s allowed, I’d be 30 then. Which is really weird to think about. Of course, this is assuming that nothing happens to me between now and then. 

Egret: Honestly my first impression is kind of cliché with like silky gowns and crystal jewelry and fancy up-dos, but after thinking about it, I guess anyone who can keep it together with strength and grace in a tough situation. That’s really elegant.

Leave it up all year long but decorate it for the seasons or upcoming holidays. That would be cute.

I’m actually planning to do that until Valentine’s day or the first of March. After that, I can buy some fresh flowers (even though my tree is fake) and mark the transition into spring.
