Moonflower and Stormtail

God they are awful. I love it. Stormtail takes interest in Moonflower when she is a kit and he is nearly a warrior. Once they are both warriors and Moonflower gets pregnant Stormtail focuses on Dappletail who is an apprentice when his kits are born???? Sir??? I love him he's so terrible.

if i had a nickel for every ya mecha novel series i've read where polyamory is the answer to how the giant psychic battle robots were supposed to work all along i'd have two nickels and the thing is i honestly don't know if that's weird or not because these are the only two mecha-related things i have ever interacted with in my life so like. are triads a Genre Staple or not

So far this book feels like the YA combination of Phoenix Extravagant and Machineries of Empire, but with Mecha. (Complimentary)

Shout-out to Yoon Ha Lee for continuing to go "here are neo-pronouns and queer partners" at the beginning of every book, and including a line about non-binary hairstyles in there while he's at it.
