Moonracer | Transformers One (2024)
I posted the last chapter of O Ye Deserted Soldiers!!! I'm so happy and proud of myself! Here are some more memes I made to celebrate!
G1 Female Autobots, the "Shield of Solus"
just a psa everybody the 'orange robot' who clearly is also purple in Transformers One is not Rung, her name is Lancer :3 she goes all the way back to The Search For Alpha Trion episode of Sunbow G1 Season 2 in 1985 as one of the Female Autobot (more recently known in other instances as the Shield of Solus) guerrillas working with Elita against Shockwave (read about the nod the movie makes to this here) and has appeared sporadically after that. She and Greenlight would finally get named in the early 2010s in Timelines as Autobot archaeologists, and the two would be warrior pilot gals in love with each other in IDW1/IDW2005 who debuted flirting in Windblade Volume II #7 in 2015 on scout duty for their warship unconscious Titan home, Carcer, not involved in the Great War. Greenlight would go on to date Arcee in IDW2/IDW2019 as a xenobiologist and help raise Gauge, and Arcee/Greenlight was also a thing in the My Little Pony crossover Magic of Cybertron, whereas Lancer was an engineer on the miraculous Winged Moon that made energon out of the literal time-space of the universe in IDW2 which would later become the refuge of the Autobots.
We totally understand why the mixup happened Lancer hasn't exactly been on television in 39 years and has only had one official toy ever (people have made customs of the idw1 version of her from cw swindle) but we do really recommend that people learn about her she's cool as heck, there's some good fanfic out there about her (and not just ones we've written!), she has a curious and flirtatious demeanor and can also be stern and pensive

it's really funny because before Timelines, Lancer's Ao3 tag name was simply "Orange Female Autobot"

i'm trying to find a new name for Elita ones team in my continuity that isn't just "girl robots" and Shield of Solus doesn't really fit the lore of my continuity. the Squad work as saboteurs in The-Hunted

Do you still meet some of the members of the sheild of solus from time to time like elita, moonracer and firestar?
"Zoomy" Arcana Magnus: We do. Danielle and I adore hanging out with them when we can. We stayed together as a unit for much of the War, combining frequently all the way through to our deployment alongside the Wreckers and Autobot Intelligence to defeat the Decepticon Justice Division's last major fortress and liberate the prisoners there- including the prototype Primus/Unicron planetoid form who took on the name Gaea and Cybertronian she pronouns after our attached Cityspeakers and Greenlight helped cut through the Funcronist* code impeding her processes.
*(Funcronism is an amalgam of Functionist and Unicronist ideologies, and Funcronist infiltration of the Decepticons and running their judicial faction while gaslighting Megatron was instrumental to the Decepticon's descent from autocratic stratocracy into totalitarianism which was eventually responded to with the Decepticon Civil War, a story for another time)
And we stayed together after that. Those who didn't already live there moved to Caminus with me, dear neighbors and extended family besides darlings Greenlight and Lancer and Chromia (Chromia's more Windblade, Nautica, Road Rage, and Strongarm's partner but my end of the polycule does enjoy tangling with her from time to time, sparring and dancing in particular something we enjoy among other aspects of intimate trust that we smooch over occasionally). Though Cybertron is currently the political capital of the Autobot Alliance once more, there is much talk about moving the gathering of our highest delegations and councils back to Caminus, which was the de facto capital for a significant portion of the war. Elita, Galebreach Convoy (Windblade's formal Prime name) and I and many other Primes have already set up a secondary Primal Expanse here, no easy feat with how much Matrix cyberform architecture we had to do, exhausting. Anode (also a Matrix bearer, she elected not to change her name), had an innovative approach of having blacksmiths aid us in the shaping, so it at least took less time than it did in ancient days for Solus and her early colleagues.
Lifeline and I tend to chat over a boardgame or meditate together. Moonracer and I love to go racing, Firestar of course I see frequently since she is amicably enamored with Nautica and her Amica Endura polycule (consisting of four previously named alongside Rung, Nightbeat, Brainstorm, Velocity, and Skids), and Elita, Greenlight, Lancer, and I have spent quite a bit of time learning Cityspeaking in order to stay in touch with Gaea.
"Arcsword" Danielle Witwicky: the Shield of Solus has also grown as an organization in peacetime. Given my position in it continuing the now ancient transformer society iteration of multispecies membership in nearly every intergalactic group transformers have had a major part in forming- we have had more from the galaxy join us in this capacity and have become teachers of a sort about the War, and about peace. I'll never forget the look on Solus's face when she told us thank you, for transforming her name into something far beyond her status as a Prime. A delta vector of change, an amusing parallel to the Delta League of Prof that instead reclaimed a monarch Solus's Forge of Solus Prime as gender expansive symbology and because of the history of her federation closely entwined with affirmation practices and gender affirmation across Cybertron before the First Cybertronian Civil War (this name of a conflict we've mentioned here is a canonical conflict in IDW1, where "Prof" Arcee is from but nothing else we have said in regards to that continuity in this post is canonical).
"Prof" Arcee: though I worked with a Novastar (no, not the Camien Firestar, a different gal, the military civil guard commander of Uraya early on during Nova Prime's rule) and Lifeline in the Delta League, what I would have given to have Greenlight, Chromia, Lancer, and Moonracer of my world beside me in the often armed liberation movement against Functionism and Nova Prime- save for the fact that I would never have wished that upon them. The way conflict went on and on and how most of us left was so sad... I would chalk it up to how equivalently annoying it would be to live for 4 million years as guerrillas against a Shockwave whose first response to discovering the Shield of Solus was to yell "FEMALES!?"
"Pistoleer" Arcee: yeah your Shockwave and mine were real pieces of work when it came to gender huh. I'm glad to still be in touch with my Shield of Solus team, they did vital work for the liberation and defense of Cybertron and Earth during my more well known adventures (this is also not canonical per se, if only). Being away from Greenlight and Lancer often was excruciating even though duty demanded we attended to our posts, I thankfully no longer have to worry about that. We still hang out together, actually currently we are looking for colonies we lost contact with or that fell, in particular to keep be able to respond in places where er 'Female Autobots didn't go extinct' which is impossible without destroying the two entwined ideas and all sapient life...
Prof & Pistoleer: *laughter*
"Pistoleer" Arcee: that said directly experiencing Danielle's two adolescences through our binary bond was maybe one of the largest challenges I myself have faced, and I was certainly amused by the second one, and did all I could to help her with both. No wonder organic bodied people have a hard time with hormones, with all the stuff they do! Truly admirable how you all live in your flesh.
"Flanker" Danielle Witwicky: right back at you. A Cybertronian staying in good health means a lot of mechanical upkeep, and I feel it every time Lifeline has to give you a tune-up. The fact you don't heal the same way I do makes things complicated.
"Pistoleer" Arcee: touche kiddo.
Transformers Warfare: Shield of Solus
The Shield of Solus is an all femme Autobot strike team. After the original version of the team was disbanded and its members joining up with different teams and groups, the Autobot known as Splendid Magnus was personally appointed by Elita One to form a new group. Electing to stay on Cybertron and fend off Shockwave’s forces as he took over the barren world in Megatron’s name, Splendid and her team will do whatever it takes to ensure Optimus Prime and the rest of the Autobots don’t come back home to a Decepticon ruled planet.
Splendid Magnus
The only previous member of the Shield of Solus to be apart of this iteration of the group, Splendid was Elita One's second in command. Intelligent, courageous, and self sacrificial, some might liken her to a female version of Optimus Prime, though her insistence that her fellow teammates have the same yellow color scheme as herself might make her seem a little vain.
Splendid Magnus transforms into a Cybertronian fire truck. She is armed with a Path Blaster cannon.
Treadbolt
Most bots with large and tough tend to have more muscles then brains. Strika the military strategist and Bulkhead the Space Bridge engineer turned Wrecker seem to be the only true exceptions. Treadbolt, meanwhile, seems to fall somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. She's not as intelligent as the previously mentioned bots, but she's willing to brave whatever the Decepticons can throw at her if it means she can help her friends, and to most, that's good enough.
Treadbolt transforms into a Cybertronian front end loader. She is armed with a laser pistol.
Circuit
Circuit used to be a sort of "used car salesmen" bot which gave the term a near-universal bad meaning, alongside the likes of Swindle. Trickdiamond, and Daytrader. That is, until she became the victim of an incident known as the "Iron Hope Disaster", in which an Autobot starship was attacked by Decepticons, which then crash landed on an energon starved planet. Forced to survive off of nucleon, an unstable substance known for temporarily supercharging Transformers at the cost of their ability to transform if used for a long enough period of time, Circuit was devastated to lose her alternate form, enough so that she took it as a sign that she needed to change her ways. Taking this lesson to spark, she used whatever equipment and contacts she still had left when she returned to Cybertron to build herself a transforming exo-suit that could turn into her original alt mode. Now armed with a vast array of weaponry, she's a dedicated Autobot, albeit one who misses what she has lost.
Circuit used to transform into a Cybertronian race car. Her exo-suit is armed with a decelerator cannon and an X18 Scrapmaker.
Sunstreaker
Vain, mean spirited, arrogant, and just a tad bit psychopathic, Sunstreaker is not one would imagine when they think of an Autobot. A former gladiator, Sunstreaker was one of the few to ever battle Megatron in the pre-war days and live to tell the tale, and she's self centered enough to let everyone know. Her tendencies are often held in check by her brother Sideswipe... but Sideswipe isn't here to do so. And that's a major problem, both for the Decepticons, and the Autobots.
Sunstreaker transforms into a Cybertronian sports car. She is armed with an Electron Pulse Blaster and can transform her hands into pile drivers.
Bumblebee
The younger sister of the Autobot team commander Goldbug, Bumblebee is every bit the cheerful and brave scout her brother was in his youth. Often regarded as the "little sister" of practically any Autobot team she becomes a part of, Bumblebee has found her most recent addition to the Shield of Solus no different an experience as any other. Unfortunately, she's a little self conscious about her size and lack of physical strength, but at the end of the day, she knows that as long as she remains fearless, there's nothing she can't do.
Bumblebee transforms into a Cybertronian car. She is armed with a laser pistol.
Sureshock
Once part of the Street Action Team alongside her teammates Grindor and High Wire, Sureshock was unintentionally left behind when Cybertron was evacuated. Found and rescued by Splendid Magnus, Sureshock immediately joined the Shield of Solus, as a mutually beneficial relationship (she needed protection from Shockwave and his forces, the team needed a strategist). Though she may seem aloof to her new group, Sureshock just needs some time to adjust to the absence of her previous group and combination partners.
Sureshock transforms into a Cybertronian ATV. She doesn't carry weapons, being a non-combatant.
Karmen
Sister of Autobot communications officer Blaster and the spy Toaster, Karmen followed in espionage much like her brother, but in a different fashion. While Toaster may be content to appear as an ordinary data stick, transferring information back and forth to his brother, Karmen is more suited to lying in wait for the perfect opportunity to attack her opponents from the inside - most often while her team is already assaulting the fortress she's in. Intermittently, she also likes to make a Decepticon or two "disappear" while they're alone with her, just to make things easier on her group. However, these waiting periods often leave her distracted and lost in her thoughts... particularly ones involving Sunstreaker, whom she's grown attracted to.
Karmen can transform into a Cybertronian data stick for espionage and a Cybertronian car for making getaways. She is armed with a laser pistol.
