Reaping Benefits AU

It’s hard enough being an assassin (long hours, hard work, stained clothes, etc.), the only graces being the tax breaks and holidays, so Character A is annoyed beyond belief when their jobs start going wrong. The fifth push into a door frame and weapon stashed in the corner out of sight on an important political kill was the last straw. 

Knowing something was up, Character A researched and researched what could be happening, but everything kept coming up the same. It wasn’t possible that the ghost of one of the assassin’s victims was haunting them...right?
