Mordecai and Donut both knowing that the reason Carl insisted on Donut being the one with the manager benefit is because if he died then Donut would still have someone. If he died then Mordecai would do his damndest to get Donut to take a deal on the deepest floors she can manage. If he died then Mordecai would keep Donut alive by any means necessary.

What Carl doesn’t realise is that Mordecai will move all of the heavens and align the stars to try and keep both of them alive. That *because* Carl isn’t the one with the manager benefit Mordecai tries his hardest to pull Carl back from the River because if he dies then what will that do to Donut?

What will *Mordecai* do if he loses one of the crawlers that made him hope and love and believe in a future all over again?

A few points about the zine:

The zine is fully expected to be a very small project and will run with at least 10 participants. It will be free and digital, distributed in PDF form via download.

The zine will likely have at least some adult themes, so the contributors will need to be over the age of 18.

Most ships will be welcome in the zine, including your OCs. It will exclude underage ships. Any discourse, or harassment of other participants over their preferred ships or tropes or any other fictional content will not be tolerated.

The System AI from the series is welcome in the zine, but this will be the only AI allowed. Your art and fics must be created by humans, cats or other living alien beings.

The Interest check will run untill July 31

I'm imagining a Mordecarl post dungeon scenario where they're interrupted mid-sex by a loud song coming from outside their front yard with some loud sobbing peppered in. There is a brief, wordless debate whether the can ignore it and continue fucking before deciding that it wouldn't be fair to the neighbors. They throw some bathrobes on and go outside to see the System AI in an avatar holding a boombox aloft. This is not the first time this has happened and they'd really like it to be the last.

I read the most recent chapter of NEW ACHIEVEMENT! And They Were Roommates by eclectillector yesterday and couldn’t get this idea of how Mordecai and Donut could find out about Carl being in the fighting pit out of my head and had to sketch some.

I’m not really good with expressions so Carl’s expressions aren’t where I want them, but I think I did pretty good with Mordecai and Donut! It’s taken me a while to figure out how I would like to draw Skyfowl so this is my first real non anatomy drawing of Mordecai. But I’m pretty happy with how he came out! Now I just have to figure out the talons and wings since NA!ATWR skyfowl are a little different.

I like the idea of Carl looking at the camera with this just blank, a mix of almost “you will not break me” subtly mad and kind of sad “this is all I’m good for” like ptsd flashback, kinda of expression. And the first time Mordecai and Donut see him on screen he’s, trying to be subtle but it’s very obviously to them, tense cause people keep touching him and he really doesn’t want to be there.

I also kinda wanted to draw Mordecai and Donut arriving to find Carl a bit tense with Maizze on his shoulder with her tail around his neck like she always does, and draw the wrong conclusion and just start going off. I’ve had this though since chapter 15, cause it’s such a great way to visually show how trapping this all must be for Carl. Annnnd cause I wanna see Mordecai and Donut defend their boy and Carl getting shocked seeing people caring for him! But I’m not that fast and had other stuff to do.

Anyway I hope ya’ll like these, and I can’t wait for the next chapter!

For the first time in 100,000,000 years, I actually finished a fic! Too bad it’s a niche pairing no one asked for lmao. I hope me and the 2 other Mordecarl shippers in the world like it haha.
