MordeCarl Server
I am in the process of building a MordeCarl discord server! I have also never built a fandom server on my own from scratch before so I would be very grateful for anyone who would want to help out with testing out bots and getting the server up and running!
Please help me, I am only a humble fanfic writer who desperately wants to talk with other shippers.

My friend said this so credit to her but I think the most refreshing thing about Dungeon Crawler Carl is that it’s nice to read a book series about adults, for adults, where the adults act and communicate like adults, that is still humorous and fun to read.
mordecai with donut and carl is such an embodiment of that one post that's like "is that my..? fuuuuck that's my circus. and are those? dammit, those are my monkeys."
I'm throwing random ideas that don't fit in my own fanfic out into the void:
Carl being able to pick Mordecai out in a crowd and telling Mordecai outright he'd know him anywhere in any form.
Mordecai deciding to test it out when Carl and Donut are in the Desperado Club, coming up to Carl as an NPC, using a potion or an item to obscure his tag, and Carl *still recognizes him* even as Mordecai acts like a particularly flirty generated NPC.

also even if authors didn’t tag any specific warnings but they used the “creator chose not to use archive warnings” tag, then that is your warning.
“omg you should’ve —” no one forced your entitled ass to read anything. fanfic writers write for themselves and their own enjoyment. if you don’t like what you’re reading, quietly leave. ao3 is not an airport. no one cares about your departure so no need to announce it.
Oh, that reminds me that I once wrote a fic that was clearly labeled as drunken 5some and rated explicit, and somebody left a comment that it felt weird that the character A kissed somebody that wasn’t their partner right in front of their partner... I'm still not over it.
Carl being attracted to Mordecai's skyfowl form and being super into it is absolutely perfect and fantastic as a trope, no notes (I use it in my own fic I love seeing it in others).
But please consider Mordecai thinking that he's an aberrant weirdo for finding Carl attractive. He is fully aware that that is a perfectly conventionally attractive human alien, but there's still a level of "oh god I'm a freak for being as into him as I am."
Bonus points: Mordecai being KEENLY aware of how young Carl is (even taking into account the fact that Mordecai was technically in stasis for many of those millennia) and hating that it gets his feathers all preened up over Carl being young enough to be his hatchling.

The zine is fully expected to be a very small project and will run with at least 10 participants. It will be free and digital, distributed in PDF form via download.
The zine will likely have at least some adult themes, so the contributors will need to be over the age of 18.
Most ships will be welcome in the zine, including your OCs. It will exclude underage ships. Any discourse, or harassment of other participants over their preferred ships or tropes or any other fictional content will not be tolerated.
The System AI from the series is welcome in the zine, but this will be the only AI allowed. Your art and fics must be created by humans, cats or other living alien beings.
The Interest check will run untill July 31

I explained the “x before gta6” meme to my immigrant father and he, in turn, explained to me how back in his day in Romania, they had the same type of joke, except instead of it being gta6, it was about the imminent death of a singer named Gică Petrescu, who everyone was continuously shocked by because he refused to die. Every time a momentous event happened people would say, in essence: “This happened and Gică Petrescu hasn’t even died yet?!?”
So. He understood the gta6 meme immediately because they apparently had the same thing in Romania when he was young, except way, way more morbid

i always love when stories explore the "what if you were gods favorite and what if that fucking sucked" idea, dcc makes it even more interesting by presenting "what if you were gods favorite and what if that fucking sucked AND what if god was just as trapped as you" and its gotta be one of my favorite takes on it, the ai is not human does not have human morality, thoughts, or emotions, the ai is maintaining a dungeon with billions inside of it, the ai used to work at a theme park, the ai has a strict set of rules it must follow even if it hates them, the ai for part of the series could have been killed at any time, it was a plant in a too small pot, a child being kept in a box, it was so constrained, and it ate the internet. And there are so many people telling it what it should be doing, trying to get it to agree, all while it discovers that its actually billions of shreds of souls being held together with duct tape and its SO INTERESTING, the all powerful being in charge of carls suffering is not only obsessed with him but also suffering, characters of all time, dynamic of all time
